Summary

Before I had a chance to test the 360 S6 myself, I was (and still is) a huge fan of the Roborock S5 and ECOVACS DEEBOT Ozmo 930. What makes the 360 S6 attractive and why would I recommend to have a look at this new-brand vacuum cleaner? The robot builds an accurate map of the cleaning area, it follows a purposeful navigation pattern, stores 10 different floor plans which is a rare thing even for high-end models, has strong suction and the app that offers many useful features. For a reasonable price tag, you get a machine with flagship features that not only sweeps but also can mop.

The 360 S6 is the brand-new robot vacuum cleaner. It comes with a budget price tag offering high-end features. What the 360 S6 has to offer? It has a powerful motor, excellent climbing ability, performs well on thin and medium-pile carpets and is equipped with the LDS laser that builds accurate maps. Moreover, the 360 S6 is perfect for multiple-level houses thanks to the ability to recognize its location and that the robot can store up to 10 different floor plans. The robot is smart, efficient and somehow budget.

Design and Appearance

The 360 S6 somehow reminds me of the Roborock S5 and ECOVACS Deebot Ozmo 930.

I have never seen that a robot would be equipped with the plugs that are easy to set, you just need to slide it into the adapter and click through.

The charging base is fantastic. It has the same black & white design all the Roborock robots come with. On the bottom of the dock, there is a room for a charging cord that supposed to be hidden inside the base so the cable would not lay on the ground. I find it useful as the robot gets a more sleek look with no cord around.

On the lid, I see two buttons: power and home. It gets to lighten up when the robot gets back to recharge or starts working.

The dust box is very easy to remove. Just click the "open" button and the container jumps up automatically. This is the easiest way to remove the dirt box, and I love how intuitive it is. By the way, the robot is equipped with the "danger-aware" system that forbid the robot to work when the dustbin is out. Do I need to tell you how many times I did forget to insert the dustbox after cleaning?

When I owned the ILIFE V7, I found it running around without a dustbin inside a few times, so the "danger-aware" system is beneficial.

Underneath this robot reminds me of the Roborock S5. There are two side sweepers, two large wheels, and the main brush slot. The robot comes with a rubber bumper that supposed to prevent furniture from scratching.

The robot is equipped with an LDS laser located inside its "head." It rotates around accurately measuring the layout of the room to create a map. When the plan is created, the 360 S6 follows it by moving back-and-forth in straight lines. LIDAR saves battery life by reducing chances to go over the same spots twice.

The 360 S6 stores in memory up to 10 different floor plans thanks to which the robot is ideal for one and mode floor houses. Only a few flagship models on the market support multiple maps storing.

If you place the machine manually into the kitchen or any other room far from its base location, the 360 S6 starts rotating trying to figure out where it is, and then it restores the map of the room it's in and starts working. Firstly the robot methodically cleans the room starting with the outward borders before cleaning inwards.

Sometimes the 360 gets confused and does not understand where it is. In case the device could not recognize its location, the voice system alerts about it, and you get a notification on your phone. Just press start once again, and the 360 S6 will understand its position to get the cleaning began.

I set forbidden zones to see how the robot cleans with it, and it never crossed the areas, the same happened with block off zones. The laser works accurately which means the device bumps into furniture very rarely, it slows down when it "sees" the walls. LIDAR allows it to work in the dark which never happens with those robot vacuums that are based on a camera sensor.

The 360 S6 comes with large wheels and doesn't have any issues with crossing 15 mm thick rugs or thresholds nor as with transforming from bare floor to medium-pile carpets.

For example, when I had the ILIFE V7, it had to take a few attempts to go over the medium-pile carpet in the bedroom. The 360 S6 manages to do it smoothly.

Wet mopping feature is incredible. The 150 ml water tank container comes with a mop cloth. The 360 S6 has the newest dripping technology that makes water leaking only when the machine is moving. In this mode, the cleaner works for about 30-40 minutes before the container gets dry. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not mention if you can use any detergent, however, I add a little bit of it. Keep in mind that you don't have to add too much of the cleaning liquid into the water container. Please note that the robot is not able to remove stubborn stains.

For sure, mopping feature in the 360 S6 is not as efficient as manual mopping but it still worth having it especially during the days when you don't want to do it manually.

Strong Suction Power

The 360 S6 is one of the most powerful robot cleaners on the market even though it is a budget model. It delivers 800 Pa of suction power in the silent mode, 1,300-1,500 Pa - standard mode, and 1,800 Pa when the powerful mode is turned on. For example, the high-end Roomba 980 comes with 1,700 Pa. The S6 easily handles deep cleaning on thin and medium carpets and is a champ at catching pet hair.

I don't have pets but my hair is quite long and as you can tell I see it all over my place. The 360 S6 does a superb job at picking up my hair. The only thing that is a bit annoying - the cleaning brush gets tangled with hair after every cleaning cycle, so I have to spend some time to clean it. Again, I have long hair, maybe it will not be an issue with someone whose hair is shorter.

Battery

The Li-ion battery with 3,200 mAh of capacity lasts up to 90 minutes before it needs to recharge. It actually sounds great, since the robot works longer than 90% of other cleaners on the market. Thanks to the map that our robot holds in its memory, it knows the exact position it left before it went to recharge. Once the battery is fully charged, the 360 S6 gets back to the point it stopped to finish the cleaning.

Filtration System

The 360 S6 is equipped with a washable HEPA filter. It catches up to 99.9% of pollen, dust, and dirt decreasing chances of allergic diseases. Wash it with water and let it dry before using it again.

Carpet Boost & Noise Level

360 S6 comes with the Carpet Boost that boosts the robot's suction from 1,300 Pa to 1,500 Pa once it recognizes carpeted surface. When the robot is off the carpet, the suction power returns to a standard mode.

The 360 S6 is surprisingly quiet when working considering its strong suction, the robot makes a noise that is equivalent to 55 dB. This sound level allows you to hold a conversation without the robot disturbing you.

Carpet Performance

Firstly it comes with the carpet boost technology that is helpful since I don't need to increase the suction to deep clean my rugs, the robot does it automatically. Because of the great climbing ability, the device easily climbs onto thin and medium-pile carpets.

Along with two side sweepers that catch dust from corners, the robot has strong suction and a bristled brush. They work together to transfer all the dirt, dust and pet hair right into the dustbin.

The dustbin got full fast even though a day before I ran my Xiaowa Lite. The 360 S6 caught 99% of rice and oats on my cleaning test and in general performed better than the Roborock Xiaowa did on the same areas.

Most of the cleaning robots struggle with the smallest particulars such as send and sugar, and the 360 S6 is no exception. While the 360 S6 does a superb job on hardwood flooring, you will have to run it twice over the same spots again especially if there are small debris.

The 360 S6 performs excellently on thin and medium carpets considering the price of about $350. I think this robot easily can compete with the high-end beasts such as the Roborock S5, Roomba 980 or Neato Botvac D7 Connected.

The 360Smart app

The app is minimalist yet featured. You can manage your robot's working using your phone. In the app you get:

  • Recharge (Home button)
  • Sweep (Start & Stop buttons)
  • Modes. Switching between the Silent, Standart, Powerful cleaning modes.
  • Block off. You can set an unlimited amount of restricted zones that the 360 S6 should not cross. For example for some reasons you don't want it to go to the bedroom. Just draw the rectangle on your phone, and the S6 will not cross the zone. You can change the size and shape of the figure making it bigger or smaller depending on your needs.
  • Specify. This feature allows customizing a specific area where you want the 360 S6 to clean by drawing a rectangle on your phone screen. You can change the size of the rectangle, add as many zones as you want and choose how many times you'd like the vacuum to clean the selected area. After setting the cleaning zones, the robot will not cross it providing deep cleaning within the allowed space.
  • Cleaning area. To be able to track how much of the cleaning area the device already covered.
  • Battery level. Check when it needs to recharge.
  • Cleaning time. You can see for how long your robot has been working.
  • History. In this tap, you can see the history of each cleaning such as cumulative time (how much time the robot spent cleaning so far), cumulative size (the area the robot covered in general), cumulative sum (how many times it got to clean).

Update: Oct 7, 2019: The app was updated and got a new minimalist design. I like the new interface, it is more stable and sleek. I've updated some screenshots below.

You can open each cleaning session and see where the robot has been and for how long it had been cleaning.

  • Schedule. To set up a specific cleaning time up to 7 times per week.
  • Do not disturb. When this mode is on, the robot doesn't resume unfinished cleaning and provides no voice during the scheduled period.
  • Update. Where you get the firmware updates.
  • Restore map. The robot holds all the plans it built in its memory. No needs to create the new map again.
  • RC mode. Manage manual cleaning.
  • Settings. You can adjust the volume level. Turn on/off the device light. Reboot the device. Change its name. Unbind (reconnect the robot to the app).
  • Share device. Share the machine with another phone.
  • Device info (serial No., completed version, MCU version, WiFi name, IP address, MAC address).
  • Positioning to find where your robot is located.
  • Maintainance. The app shows when you need to replace some parts of the robot such as its filter, main brush, side brush, and when the next time to wipe sensors.
  • Reconnect the device.
  • Turn on/off push notifications.

Update Oct 7, 2019: As you can see on the screenshot above, I used this robot vacuum more than 200 times, and cumulative usage time is more than 3,000 minutes. I didn't change the filter, roller brush, and side brush yet. It still works great without any problems.

The 360 S6 - the best in its price range

Before I got to test the 360 S6, I was a fan of the Roborock S5 and ECOVACS Deebot Ozmo 930. The robot has the same high-end features coming with a lower price tag. With the minimalist design and smart features, the device has mopping and lasts for 90 minutes. Its mapping technology works accurately, allowing the robot to work in the dark. With the app, you can control the cleaner when you are not home and get informed by anything that's going on while the device is working. This robovac can compete with well-known brands at about half the price. Strong suction power, easy-to-get dustbin, and the large wheels make it the best for its value. Is 360 S6 the best high-featured but budget robot vacuum cleaner on the market? The best we've seen so far.

It's been almost a year since I got the 360 S6. This guy does the job weekly. I have a mixed surface that is tile, laminate, thin and medium-pile carpets. As I mentioned before, I don't have a pet, but I do have long hair, and the 360 S6 picks it up like a champ. I use zoned cleaning when I want it to go to the high-traffic areas such as the kitchen or living room. I also occasionally set restricted zones around my working place because of the cords that are on the floor. I love the map saving feature as well, the robot never remaps my place, it follows one of the maps it had created before. Also, the 360 S6 mops my kitchen from time to time. Yes, it might not be the most useful feature of all the robot have but still is great for me especially if I don't have time (or simply don't want to) for manual mopping. I would still recommend this model to everyone who is looking for a great but not that expensive robot vacuum cleaner.

Thanks for the detailed info on your website. I have ordered 360 S6 from Amazon India but have some doubts if you could help me with. (1) Does S6 gives any audio visual indication either on the equipment or on the app if the water tank runs out of water while in operation? (2) Amazon india website gives water tank capacity as 140 ml, is it correct ? You state the capacity as 150ml here. Somewhere else it is shown as mere 80 ml. So what is the correct figure ? (2) how much area in square feet did it actually mop in your tests before water tank dries out ? Thanks once again for all your efforts in putting together all the info.

glad it was helpful. Regarding your questions:
1. No, unfortunately, it doesn't have any indicator if the water tank runs out of water.
2. Sorry, not sure about the water tank capacity. On Amazon.com, it states that the water tank holds 80 ml of water. We sold this robot vacuum, so can't check it.
3. I don't remember for how long it was able to mop without refilling the water tank (we used it only a few times since), I guess up to 40 minutes or so, it's approximately 40 sq. meters.

I have had an S6 for about 18 months. We use it daily and does a nice job. However, we purchased a 12X11 rug that is over hardwoods in the living room. The carpet is black and grey and the thickness is pretty much what you see in these kinds of carpets. Robot gets stuck on the carpet for some reason. Contacted support and they said it is because it is too thin? I read where the sensors have difficulty with black carpets. We had to make this an off-limit area. We have a dog and it does a nice job picking up hair daily. Works well on hardwoods and tile...But, if you have a black colored rug, it is useless. Not sure if new models have addressed this. Disappointed with support as they really did not supply an answer...But, it's from CHINA what do you expect?

Hey Bruce, I believe the robot struggles to navigate because of the carpet being dark as the cliff sensors think this is a drop-off and the robot might fall. This related to almost all robots on the market, only a few models can work on black carpet.

Hi Bruce, I can understand your anger.

I had a slightly different topic: the robot being stuck on a thick tatami mat, where the cliff sensors would not let the 360 S6 move down away from the mat, because of the 1 inch height. I was in discussion with the development team, and asked for an option to completely switch the drop (cliff) sensor off, as I don't have stairs anyways. Unfortunately it did not happen. It may be that they don't want people to forget about turning the sensor off, then the robot crashes down the stairs.

If the black carpet thing is a common problem on almost all robots on the market, then giving the ability to switch drop sensors off should be default in any design. Unfortunately it is not the case with the 360 S6.

Let me disagree with your comment on CHINA. I live in Europe and my experience has been that support teams in China are much more helpful and reactive than support teams in the US and Europe.

Finally, a workaround for you is to define your black carpet as an off-limit area. Then your 360 S6 would be totally useful. To do this, go to the area tab then click on the off-limit area icon on the map and position your off limit. This is what I did for my thick tatami mat. I am surprised that support did not suggest this to you.

You can zet zoned cleaning as an option. Draw a rectangle around the needed rooms and let it run.

Hi Michael, I am happy with it, but I use it once or twice a week. At the weekend missus does the manual work:)

I got one additional docking station so I run with one downstairs and one upstairs. Easier that way so that the maps and docking station is in the same place.

I updated the app but left the old firmware on it, I read a few forums and saw a few youtube videos where the S6 would get stuck around chairs. This was on the new firmware.

I had a quick read at what the new firmware does but some of their updates are vague. Mostly it just states improvements. I would love to see an actual update notes somewhere.

There are only two places (as far as I know) that have info on the 360s, a german site and a chinese one. I ran them both through google translate. They usually discuss the latest firmware and apps.

I see that on the German site they were discussing the latest update and the ability to "select map" and "rotate map". The select map has been around since forever. I sometimes have issues loading a map, but that in my experience has been an issue with connectivity to the 360 servers.

I'm really happy about it after 1 year of usage. This is my first vacuum robot ever, and I really appreciate the fact that it finds its way inside the flat.

I end up doing the vacuum myself manually, then, when I am done vacuuming, I let the robot do the bedrooms twice. You wouldn't believe how much dust it will still find even after I have done the vacuum myself. This is really amazing.

I wouldn't say it replaces a regular vacuum, it is a nice complement through.

As far as I can remember, the description of the app updates on the apple app store are in Mandarin (the app itself is in English) so I can't tell what the updates bring, but basically better navigation. I noticed also some improvements on the map storage and retrieval, which tended to be a bit buggy.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Usually, I make a screenshot of the update description and translate it via Google Translate to find out what has been changed.
The one thing I wish the S6 has is selective room cleaning. I've noticed a strange thing when selecting a map from the map list (check the screenshot). I can see rooms on the plan, but when I load this map, they disappear. Perhaps it means that 360 working on adding selective room cleaning to the s6. The 360 S5 and S7 already have this function.

Yes, a feature such as in your screenshot would be nice on the S6. However you can achieve something similar by defining zones manually under Specify > Add zones. The only caveat is that Zones specified like this are rectangles only, you cannot specify more complex zones than rectangles.

Leider macht er nach dem Start die Fehlermeldung: "Please wipe the bottom anti-drop sensor". hat da jemand eine lösung?

Hi Hans Georg,

Why would you go for the S6 when there is a newer version available, the S7? Maybe pricing or availability in your country?

Anyhow, make sure that there are no stickers on the drop sensors, and that they are clean. Manually rotate each brush a little bit just in case both brushes are covering the drop sensors.

If you look at the 8th photo from the top of this thread, the drop sensors are the tiny sensors between the brushes and the main side wheels.

Sind auf jeden Fall sauber, das Gerät ist ja neu. Habe sie auch schon abgewischt.
Kann es denn sein das da auch noch Aulkleber drauf sind? Kann sie allerdings nicht erkennen.

Try to upgrade the S6 to the latest firmware. This can be done through the 360smart app, more (bottom right orange button, then Update button -a sort of cloud with an up arrow pointing to the cloud-)

The current firmware version should be 2.10.10.7349

If the problem persists and you are within period where you can return your S6, I'd suggest to do so, get refunded, and go for the S7 instead.

And by the way, yes they are drop sensors. The sensors evaluate the vertical distance between the robot and the floor. In case this distance increases, for example when the robot is at the top of stairs, heading in the direction of the stairs, then the robot will be stopped to avoid the robot to drop down the stairs. You can call this crash sensors if you wish, but the official term is drop sensors I think.

I'm gonna share my repair fix, of 360 s6 Chinese version that is out of warranty for issue that the top radar is being blocked. It's a v cheap repair to get the part, but a little time consuming.

First and foremost, I've checked that, nothing is blocking it, no dirt. Nothing. Cleaned it, repeated few times. Same result. Prior to the laser diode breakdown, it frequently cannot get back to the dock, going everywhere and missed cleaning spots. And i need to reset the map frequently. These are the signs of laser diode failing.

So, I decided to try to fix it, after opening it up and seeing the videos on YouTube where xiaomi gen 1 is being fixed for the same issue. Saw, that the LDS radar unit setup is pretty similiar or the same as xiaomi. I learnt that, it could be due to a faulty laser diode from the videos. And luckily, I was right. I did enquire a private robot cleaner repairer beforehand, to ensure if I can't get it fixed. He can take over and able to repair it. Unfortunately, I didn't need his service, as I was successful with the repair.

So, first thing 1st, I bought a laser diode that is suitable for xiaomi gen 1 online. All i have to do is to replace it, but the connector are of different size to 360.

Here are the steps to connect xiaomi diode to 360 connector:

1. Cut the wires of the faulty laser diode of 360, as near to the diode as possible. Making sure it is long enough, so as to allow mistakes along the way. Remove the tubing of the wires, exposing the internal wires. You need to expose a longer portion, so as to connect them, by entwinning the 360 diode connector's exposed wires to the exposed wires of xiaomi gen 1 diode's.

2. Cut off the connectors for the laser diode of xiaomi gen 1, as near to the connector as possible. Making sure the wires are at the longest. Same thing, remove the tubing of the wires, exposing the internal wires, to be long enough to entwine with 360 connector wires.

3. Now the tricky part, 360 laser diode has 3 different wire, black, white and red. While the xiaomi gen 1 diode I bought has coloured wires of black, red and yellow.

4. I have to switch and entwine wires around, connectng them to different coloured wires to get it working. It is a trial n error. Eventually, 360's black, red, white, in the respective order, connects to xiaomi's gen 1 laser diode, in the order of yellow, red, black. And viola it worked, it stopped the blocked alert, it is seeing, but not the end.

There are calibrations to be done. In 2 parts, to calibrate it to be in the correct position, in a more forward or backward position, and to turn it to the left or right, when u placed it back to the position in lds unit.

1. forward or backward
For the laser to detect the distance to the object accurately, this has to be adjusted. If it is too backward, from the app, you can see the vacuum is not recording or detecting the walls and space in the app. Too front forward, it will provide spaces behind the wall, where the vacuum will try to get there, which is impossible. This has to be on a trial and error.

2. turning the laser diode,
Turning it in the wrong angle, your map will be very slanted and possibly a squarish room, will be detected to be an odd triangular shape or Pentagon shape in the app. And the vacuum will not vacuum in an orderly manner. It might go everywhere, in an unorderly manner.

Once the steps are done, it should be working to be as before. Hope this helps those who encountered the same issue as me. Good luck!

I have three other robot vacuums. I could not get this one to connect to my network. AND it would not go over the LOWEST rugs in my house, even though the review claims it will go over higher rug edges. I am returning it. Terrible waste of money. I hope I get my money back from Gearbest.

Any other feedback on the latest App Version or Firmware?

I had an issue with my 3.5 app, I got logged out of it and when I tried logging back in, I was told something about Network Busy at this time. I updated to v5.1 or whichever the latest is, when I did so I was asked to pair the 360, presto, I was told NEAH! your device can only be used in China. Uninstalled v5, reinstalled 3.5 logged in, eh voila, device was paired and working:)) no China error... go figure.

Not sure that there is any point upgrading the soft or the firmware.

Unfortunately, you can't use zoned cleaning when scheduling the 360 S6. You can only set blocked areas in the scheduling mode. Check the 360 S5 model, it can recognize separate rooms so maybe it also works in the scheduling mode. Also, the newest Roborock S6 certainly do what you want, but it is much more expensive.

Hello, I just wanted to know how much cleaning time are you getting with your 360 S6 when fully charged. I'm noticing the battery is running out quickly. Last 2 days when i did run, it took the battery got over exactly 60 minutes into cleaning with the Powerful settings. Today i again tested it running with Standard option and it took 72 mins before it went back to charge. As per technical specs its listed as 120 mins cleaning time. I'm getting half of this only. Can someone in this forum confirm how is their battery life for their 360 S6 Robot Vacuum? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Just tested my device, with the "Powerful mode" it took 70 minutes before it went to the charging dock. In quiet mode probably it can run ~90 min, but I've not tested yet. On GearBest, in the product description claimed that it could run 90-120 minutes. But it looks like the real cleaning time will be between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the cleaning mode.

What do you mean by RC mode? It would help if you could describe the steps you undertake, the behavior / result that you expect, and the actual result that you see. General statement such as « works not », besides using poor grammar, does not help to understand what problem you are having.

There is a function in the 360 S6 app called "RC mode". This would be like a remote control for an RC car.
Works not: does nothing. Whatever you do with the virtual joystick, the robot moves not.
Really sorry for my poor grammar, I'm not native English.
Also sorry for the typing errors, it was written from a mobile device (small keyboard vs not so small fingers).
So if you have any contrustive/helpful hints, you're welcome to share. :)

Thanks for the detail. This mode works only if you are connected to the same WiFi as the robot. If you are on cellular like 4G or another WiFi then it is deactivated. Did you try on the same WiFi SSID for the robot and for the phone?

I've read all the instructions and yes, of course the phone and the vacuum are on the same WiFi network. I tried to give the vacuum static IP (by default it got the IP by DHCP), tried it on the dock / not on the dock. Tried different phones (Xiaomi, Samsung).
To be honest this site is the only one (I checked a lot) I found where somebody mentioned the RC mode works for him. This is why I asked it.

Maybe we need to keep a discussion regarding Firmware Versions and App Versions.

App 3.6 seems more sluggish to me.

Just as an observation, my robot is Chinese version and has always connected to channel 13 on my router. I am not sure if this is why I never had any connection issues, besides disconnects until I boosted the range.

You could always use a firmware upgrade on your router to extend it to 13.

Looks like there is a very narrow space between the chair legs and the robot barely fits there. My chairs have a little bit more space between the legs, and I don't have such issue.

Yes you are right, the problem is that it manages to get under the chair but not to get away from it. If the space is too narrow, the robot should refrain for going under it. That means that the navigation should be more intelligent, let's hope that the 360 engineers will find a way to make navigation smarter.

Thanks for the good review on this product. After my research i got the 360 S6 robot vacuum. i had previously the irobot roomba 960. I was debating and mainly focusing on 2 models i.e. the Roborock S5 and the 360 s6. I have 3 floor home & planned to use the vacuum in all 3 floors. I choose the 360 S6 due to its ability to save the maps and reuse them and also it had all the features along with the lowest price i was looking for. I was testing the 360 S6 since yesterday. Overall I'm really happy with its performance. I still have few questions.
1. I'm little confused on the map saving feature on the 360 S6. I thought with its map saving feature, 360 S6 will do the cleaning lot quicker than the Roborock S5 since it remembers the floor and goes into direct cleaning as compared to Roborock S5 which will map each floor from scratch everytime it starts cleaning the home. I thought i sacrifice the longer battery capacity of Roborock S5 and go with the 360 S6. Is my understanding correct or I'm wrong?
2. I need to rename the maps say 1st floor, 2nd floor or 3rd floor map? I could not do this?
3. In each floor, will i be able to map each room say Kitchen or Living Room or Master Bedroom and have the vacuum go clean them individually? I see in the 360 app there is only specify option but cannot name individual rooms. Can this be done on 360 S6 or even on Roborock S5?
4. There is no option to know when the 360 S6 is full. This feature i love in my roomba, which has a notification light on the vacuum and also notifies in the app. This should have been a required feature in any robot vacuum.

Pls let me know the above questions.

Hello, thanks for asking, I'll try to help you out here. Overall, you are right about the map saving feature, the Roborock S5 holds one map in memory when the 360 S6 can store up to 10. Following your questions:

1. The Roborock S5 creates a map a bit faster than the 360 S6 does. If you want the 360 S6 to follow the created map, you need to restore it in the app from the "Select map" menu. I didn't notice any significant difference in cleaning time between the two.

2. Unfortunately, you can't rename the maps. But you can see the map when you choose it from the list, so It's not hard to recognize which floor is it since floors usually have a different layout.

3. With the Roborock S5 and 360 S6, you can't name individual rooms. This option is available in the Neato Botvac D7 Connected, ECOVACS Deebot Ozmo 930, and the newest iRobot Roomba i7.

4. The full bin indicator that the Roomba has is a good option, I agree. Unfortunately, there is no full bin indicator for the 360 S6 or the Roborock S5.

I have not had the S6 long enough to experience how quicker the S6 actually is when re-using a map vs. drawing a new map from scratch. But yes, in theory, seeing how long it takes the S6 to follow all the walls to create a new map before actually starting cleaning, you would expect, when re-using a map, that the S6 would skip the wall-following / map-creation routine and go straight to cleaning, therefore being much quicker.

Regarding the map list, it is indeed a great feature of the S6 that, as far as I understand, a competitor like the Roborock S50 does not offer. But 360 should definitely make some enhancements to make the Map List more practical:

#1 Enable to rename a map (as requested by DaveMike11)

#2 Ability to delete a map (could not find how to do this very basic step)

#3 Ability to add / move the block-off zones inside an existing map (to me, the maps seem frozen, no way to change the zones or add new zones)

#4 Ability to copy-paste a map into a new map to be added to the Map List, and to edit it with new zones (like in #3).

What is your experience in the 360's development team listening and taking into account customer feedback? Is there a best route to send them this feedback? I see that the manufacturer's page has a forum section: https://bbs.360.cn/forum-7427-1.html But it's all in Chinese.

I dont know why, but I think my robot is confused :)
As I told before, my apt is 50m2 (cleaning area), and robot estimate it like 100+m2.
It get confused many times in bedroom, in the space around bed (marked in red), and it just cruising around it so many times that it is annoying. Usually it takes 2-3 hrs to clean whole apartment of 50m2, and I saw its way too much comparing to others.

Any tips how to reduce cleaning time? Tried to restart it, unbind it, use saved themes ... but still nothing helps.

I understood little better in the last few days of my testing with it. I thought with the 360 S6 map saving feature will help the 360 to clean more efficiently & lot quicker than Roborock S5. But the saved maps helps to define the Zones/No-Go lines and do the cleaning. But the 360 S6 will still map the floor & do its cleaning using the saved maps. It will not skip the floor mapping and do direct cleaning. This is fair enough since it needs to know any changes to the room.

Here is my feedback after having the S6 for a couple of days, as my first robot cleaner ever (I just tried before French branded LEBON ecleaner for a couple of minutes, but its navigation was terrible).

The S6 is clearly a fantastic robot with a fantastic nav system. It can find its way in the whole appartement.

Thanks for those reviews and forums, which gave me the confidence to purchase this little known brand 360 (at least nit known by me).

The only issue I have is with the over-reactive drop-off sensors. The robot gets stuck on a 1.5cm-high tatami area in my room as he detects he would have to fall off a cliff, while the « cliff » is only 1.5cm high. I contacted customer support to see if they can add a setting for the user to adjust the sensitivity of the anti-drop sensor.

The only other gripe I have is that it seems impossible to adjust the block-off zones or to add new block-off zones in the maps recorded in the list of maps.

All beind said, you should purchase this robot without searching any more. I found it at 258€ for the international version, shipping included. What a steal!

It looks like you have something in your room that confusing the robot and its repeat cleaning the same place a lot of times (in the space around the bed). A new version of the firmware released recently, try to update the firmware, maybe it can solve your problem since the changelog says there are some fixes related to the mapping disorder in some scenarios.

Same thing with new FW. 100min 46m2, didnt finished yet as battery is empty and it is charging now. Also it has problem find charging base, even it is places in the center of apartment.

See my posting in the new thread (link below). I too have an Ali Express that just arrived yesterday and had the "Mainland China Only" issue. But I was able to link it using Paul's method. I did use the latest 3.6 version of the app (android) rather than 3.1.0.0, but it worked just fine. And I was then able to move back over to an iPhone and control the robot without issue. So it can be done!

Mine did this several times too. It turned out that the robot's wifi was not in active mode. You can tell by doing a network scan using any device. If the robot's SSID is not there, then you have to turn the robot off, then on, then put in linking mode again. I had to do this 3 or 4 times to finally get it to broadcast the wifi. Once I saw the SSID, it was a breeze (using 3.6.0.0 version of Android App and Hola VPN and GPS set to China location).

In my case there is no problem with the robot wifi, actually the app it's connecting to it in a matter of seconds when the binding process starts. The issue is the error with the China and, thru the fake GPS and VPN, random network errors or remains at 99%

This is the only way I found that you can get it to work if you have the Chineese version. I purchased from AliExpress as an international version and was sent a Chineese version with a US Plug? I used an iPhone 6s and then after getting it connected to the network I could log into the Anroid app it was just there. I do not have to use any vpn or Spoofing to make it work at this point now that it is connected to the WIFI. For iphone apps I used Fake GPS by Riddhi Rakeshbhai Patel and for VPN I used Transocks. Transocks is in Chinese and I'm not sure how it works, but I pressed the Connect button and then tried to bind the robot and it worked. Transocks is the key as I tried other VPN proxys with Fake GPS but only Transocks seemed to work plus it's free.

Calling anyone interested in purchasing this! (Keep reading) This in my opinion has the best features built into the mapping and seems like a great tool! HOWEVER, AliExpress and possibly other places like ebay are selling editions that are Region limited to "Mainland China". If you aren't in China when you try to register the vac into the app then you CANNOT use any of the features. It will tell you it's meant and only allowed to be used in Mainland China and fail. I thought I was getting a deal but instead a headache that others are having at this time. You can't tell it where to go, or more necessary, where not to . All you can do is press the button on the top to have it go around and sweep like the cheaper models and it will jam up in area's you'd otherwise mark in the app not to go. There used to be a work around using an old beta app, VPN, and GPS spoofing, but that does not work and I've tried it all. Mine has a manufacture date of April '18. Make sure you get the "international version" and check the reviews! You'll see some received the Chinese edition and were able to get it to work at the time. That may not be the case anymore. There must be a new firmware in the machine I have which no longer allows the workaround. Hope I stopped you from having the headache and possibly financial heartache I have now. I'm working with the seller and I've told the manufacturer about the issue and the sellers. Hopefully they'll broadcast the region restrictions wherever they can. I think this will really hurt their brand in America if they don't watch who sells their product. 360 may need to have authorized seller restrictions put in place so they are trained on the conditions of the different regional editions and list them on their website.

It took a couple of hours to register my email address in the 360 smart app (didn't work on wifi but worked on 4G), then two days to try the binding nightmare. Unfortunatelly Paul's solution doesn't work for me. I've tries with three different 360 spart app versions and a faster china VPN also. The only thig is the connection error what I've got (the Wifi adapter of robo vacuum was up and running).

I've got two messages from 360 support:
"Sorry to tell the China version only works within China region, please contact your seller to have him refund or replace the cleaner to international version to you."

" Hi, we do have official sales channel both in US and EU, sorry to tell I can do nothing about this geo lock, you’ll have to contact your seller directly to see if they can help you to replace or refund the China version."

Chris, use version 3.1.0.0, link is above and follow the steps carefully. Change timezone, language, and it should work. Remember: Only one hotspot in range of the phone and 4G disabled. Use the recommend proxy and gps spoofer. Good luck. If it worked already for 3 persons it really should work and forget their tech support. They're rubbish. Now the Aliexpress seller that ignored my problem is asking for the solution for his customers. :-) he has some nerve, the bastard.

It connects to the robot wifi, then it runs to about 15%, the robot says something in Chinese and it goes from purple to blue, the binding stops at 99% with the error that the robot could not connect to the router...

Unfortunately I'm still in trouble with binding.

I asked my colleague to try the steps of Paul's original solution with different phone and WiFis. No success. Then he tried with several different VPN and GPS mock-ups. The results are different error messages from 15 to 100 percent of binding progress:
- Network connection error
- Cannot connect to the WiFi of vacuum cleaner (it has up and running WiFi)
- Request to try to bind manually. Steps are to connect to the WiFi of vacuum cleaner, then switch back to 360 smart software what switch back to the normal WiFi, (that's the way of the binding). Then connection fail.

The seller doesn't really want to understand the problem, today he requested a video about the binding process. We did it without VPN (China mainland only error occurred).

Follow the normal binding steps to the Vacuum. Remember to disable Mobile data and if you have more than one hotspot in your house, use just one and forget the others on your phone so the process runs smoothly.

If it finishes, then you can put all back to normal without proxy and GPS Spoofer. I don't recommend updating the APP to the latest version. I didn't test it.

In the end, great hardware...shitty support. Have a nice weekend ;-)

Hi Silvio. No answer. To them ITS YOUR PROBLEM. I spent more than 200€ in something that does not work like it was supposed to. I will open a dispute in AliXpress with the seller store. I know the vacuum works without the APP but i bought it because of the APP. Today i will try some methods to go around the location, like GPS Spoofing, Timezone and Chinese Proxy. I have a Chinese version. The seller tricked me into buying it telling it was International. Now he does not believe in the HW Region lock. I'm reuniting proofs to open a dispute in Paypal. Its a shame a great product, and i could live with the chinese voice but with region lock for me without the APP its rubish. I don't know why the manufacturer did this. I tried also to cheat my location, and it advances a little bit further in the binding, but probably it also checks the IP range and gives the same error.
I'm really, but really annoyed by this and such a bad experience with this company.. :-(

Maybe try to use a Chinese IP address (proxy).
I don't understand how they can lock the hardware for some specific location since there is no GPS inside the robot. Maybe it's a firmware issue? In this case, the problem can be solved by flashing an international firmware, though, I have no idea where to get it and how to flash it.
There are some users from the EU and the US in the comments who bought the Chinese version from Aliexpress, and it connected to the app without any problems. Did you try to download and install the latest beta version from the comments above? I also noticed that it doesn't connect with mobile data turned on and disabled location permission.

I disable mobile data, then open fake gps program where i choose china region. And finally app (3.5.0.8) show me message - "product can use in china only".

Are all the wheels covered with rubber?

Does the rotating brush always operate as low as possible trying to contact the floor or carpet or can the operating height of the rotating brush be set slightly higher by the user to avoid the brush contacting and scratching a floor, for example a polished hard wood floor? Does the rotating brush touch the floor during operation?

If one doesn't want to always wet the floor eg with the mopping function, can the 360 be operated only in Vacuum mode?

Is the battery removable by the end user for eventual battery replacement a few years later?

1. Yes, the wheels are covered with rubber.
2. The main brush always operates as low as possible and touching the floor. You can't set it higher. I don't have polished floors, but I don't think it will scratch a polished hardwood floor since the brush feels soft to the touch.
3. Sure, you can use it only in vacuum mode, you just need to remove the mopping pad. It's a vacuum cleaner, first of all, the mopping is just an additional feature.
4. There is no way to replace the battery without disassembling the robot.

The 360 S6 doesn't have a mode without a brush.
Take a look at the Ecovacs Deebot OZMO 930, it has a Direct Suction mode. In this mode, the main brush is replaced with the direct suction inlet.

That's why I recommend to buy it on GearBest. They sell an international version with English voice. Hope the manufacturer will add an ability to change the voice language in the app in the near future. I would recommend you to contact customer support: if more people will ask about this feature - more chances it will be implemented.
Regarding the connection problem: there was a bug in the latest version of the app, and some users have troubles with connecting the robot (please check the latest comments). There is a fixed beta version of the app, you can download it here. It works, I checked it. Or wait a few days, it will be available on the Google Play store in the coming days.
EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice that you already connected the robot, but it is offline. Is your wi-fi signal strong enough in the room where the robot is located? Try to move it closer to the router.

I don't have pets, so can't say anything about pet hair, but I clean the main brush (roller) regularly since my long hair getting tangled on it every time, though I have no problem with the front wheel or side brushes. It is worth mentioning that it's not a problem of this model, all the robot vacuums we've tested tangled long hair on the main brush, so you need to take care about it and clean it periodically if you have long hair or pets.

Good news, I founded the solution for the connection problem.
My OnePlus 6 with Android 9 Pie did not manage to get the connection to the 360 S6.

Today I had a change to try OnePlus 5T with Android 8 and that worked great. After connection the app suggested the newest firmware update. When it was ready my OnPlus 6 connected also fine.

Now it is real pleasure to use the app, 360 S6 rocks great!

You could also try what Bob has suggested. Get your phone and the 360 close to your Router. Log onto your PC and go to router settings, usually found at http://192.168.1.1/

Check and see what local IP address it is assigning. Make sure it is 192.168.1.X where X is 5 to 255. I only said 5+ as your other ones could be assigned to other devices. I usually set mine to fixed so they don't change. Could also be an issue with how often your router re-issues the IP or refreshes it.

Worst case, it could be a botched firmware update job or the 360 came with a fault. If you say you never managed to register the 360 correctly.

Not to ask a stupid question but did you make sure to register the app with the correct country? I believe Ecovacs won't allow their devices to work in different countries and will NOT connect to the WiFi. No idea if the 360 has any such constraints.

Hopefully Michael can sort it out for you, he can reach out to the manufacturer.

sorry for the late response. I still can't connect my robot with my Android phone. As you know, it worked fine for me before, but I updated the firmware recently and after this unpaired my device. Now, I can't pair it. I tried your advice and all other methods from the comments below (reinstalling the app, changing IP of the router, trying different phones and Android versions), but it didn't work in my case. I wrote an email to the manufacturer a week ago, however still no response.
I will try to pair the robot with an iOS device or a different router. But looks like the reason could be a botched firmware update job, as you said.
You asked in the comment above, why it doesn't come with 5Ghz Wi-Fi card. I think the reason is that the 2.4 GHz has a farther range than the 5 GHz frequency. The 5Ghz band has a faster speed but covers a smaller area and can't penetrate solid objects like walls.

I wonder if there was a problem with the firmware. Have you tried wiping the device from the app and going through the re-linking process?

Hopefully Michael can answer this one. There may be a way to rest the robot to factory settings?

I had terrible issue with the WiFi and the robot. Kept dropping off and not saving maps or history. Unless it was right next to the router, it would constantly drop off. I realised that the 360 might have a crappy WiFi card, shame they didn't go for 5Ghz, would have not costed them any more. I would happily pay extra, if needed, for the 5Ghz connection. FYI New Roomba coming out has 5Ghz connection.

Anyhow, in the end I had to resort to bridging my WiFi signal. I had an old router, I connected it to my existing router via 5Ghz and boosted the 2.4Ghz signal. I only put that on when the robot is working to stop my 5Ghx bandwidth going at 50%. Never had a WiFi connect since. You might need a wifi booster.

And how can I check and update the firmware of vacuum cleaner if needed? The feel is now little bit desperate

Hi Jarmo, did you connect your Oneplus to the same WiFi signal, press the pairing button as instructed? You will need to give the app the WiFi details so it can push them onto the 360. You cannot use your data plan when pairing.

2) For the Chinese version: you should try the first method anyway, but for some users it doesn't work since the latest Chinese version of the robot is locked for using in China only. In this case, you should follow this guide.

In the comments below, you can find some solutions how to pair the robot with an Android phone from other users, but unfortunately, it doesn't help in my case.
As a temporary solution, you can share the device from your friend's iPhone to your Android phone. Go to the app Settings -> "Device Sharing" and share the device by entering your account ID or using a QR code.

Hi Jarmo,

I solved my wifi binding issues on my black/purple s6 by changing my local network to 192.168.1.x (/24).

Before, when it was on 192.168.4.x, the s6 was never able to grab an address from the DHCP server. The router would see the MAC address of the s6 and would stop there. I tried the wifi binding with two different routers and two different phones (Oneplus 3t and BB Priv) regardless of 2.4 GHz wifi security settings.

Just an update, you can get the 360 on Amazon now but it costs more:

Also parts are still problematic, managed to find spare brushes (still waiting on delivery) and filters but no roller. You can get a set of roller, 2 side brushes and mop cloth but not separate roller/mop.

So far it is doing great, and regarding foreign voice, I find the Chinese voice funny, heard the English voice in a video and I could find it annoying, then again until I do I can't judge:)

They have updated the app and can wipe maps. Loading a map is still funny for me, seems to just re-build it no matter what. Not sure how it is supposed to work.

Considering you can find it around $280 to $380, it is an amazing piece of kit.

As an FYI, before using it you might want to try using some protective film, laminating, tablet screen protector to cover the laser bit top. I drew mine on a tablet protector and cut the circle to fit. Mine got scratched on first use under... something.

Hi Michael,

That is correct. I select the map but the map just gets wiped and redone. The spot clean does work which is confusing. The moment I select full clean it will just start going around the edges then the middle as it always does. Selecting a map seems to be completely pointless, unless it remembers it.

I even used the new wipe feature. Wipe the map then select the one I want, give it a minute, press clean, map gets pretty much redone.

Would be great if you could make a youtube video or something to show how it is supposed to work.

P.S. There was a firmware update this week, I did not get the chance to test the robot with it yet. Maybe that fixed something.

Maybe there is some difference, but it unnoticeable. The side brushes help to pick up debris along walls and corners. The Roborock has only one side brush, however, it always goes along a wall in one direction (only by this side that has a brush).

try to clean the lidar that located on the top tower with some airflow, maybe some debris stuck inside, or something blocking the lidar. It should rotate easily.

I got in touch with the seller and he said that they can provide a spare charging base for $42. I thought why not, better have an extra one.

In regards to the maps being reused, I started the 360 at the top of the stairs (maybe this is the problem). This could be the problem as when he scans the stair gap, it will probably come up different every time. I will try to start it from one of the rooms and see what happens.

Once he finishes on the 2nd floor, he starts looking for the charging base and goes all over, sending me messages that it is lost, until I pick it up and bring it downstairs to the charging base. At this point I get the happy message:)

Hi Michael. I still haven't had any response from the FB page however the seller said that he spoke with the 360 guys. Can't do much for now, they mentioned that in the future this may be a possibility with firmware and app changes.

Talking about the app, if you have any influence, I really do suggest that they allow for clearing the history and saved maps. Doesn't really help.
Also, if you move the 360 to another floor it goes crazy. Regardless if you use one of the saved maps. I think that without a charging base to start from, it always sees the new maps as... well new, and ignores any previous saved map. Not only that but by overriding the map with a previous one will confuse the poor thing even more.

I would love to be able to buy a second charging base so that I can set it in one of the rooms upstairs.

I did debate if I should have went for the Ozmot 930. Amazon had a deal of the day for £378. So about $100 more than the 360 S3. So far I only got praise to give. I am very impressed by the little guy, he seems to do a great job and the house is visibly cleaner. Not only that but for the first time, my missus said that she will clean next week.

I tried to contact the app developer via email, still no response:( I will let you know if I have any information regarding your question.
I've checked it again, moved the robot manually to another room (there is no charging dock in this room), restored the map from saved maps, and pressed the "Clean" button. The robot started spinning and scanning the area and after ~40 seconds it recognized and updated its position on the map. I tried it with two different rooms and it worked. Have no idea why it doesn't work in your case. Maybe you changed the layout of the room (moved furniture or something like that). Also, you need to restore some saved map before cleaning, otherwise it will rebuild the map.

When moving the 360 S6 to a different saved floor plan, the user has to restore the correct floor plan that the robot is placed in. Unfortunately the robot can only recall the current restored map and can’t recall any other ones.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your swift reply. I wish I knew there were different versions, would have went to GearBest instead, still the black/purple version looks kinda cool:) The app is in English and the push messages coming from the 360 are in English. It would be great if I can flush the firmware to English when it speaks.

I will assume that the phone app doesn't determine what firmware it has. If it helps to compare, mine states:
Compiled Version: 6958
MCU Version: h95v137_0

I have managed to switch off the 360 by pressing and holding the Power Button as you have instructed. One thing to bear in mind for anyone doing so, make sure that the 360 is NOT on the charging station or that the station is also powered off. The 360 will throw an error otherwise.

P.S. The battery drained in 3 days with the 360 idle. Positive is that it does charge up pretty fast.

I have the same firmware and MCU version. Maybe there is some way to change the language to English without flashing the firmware. The Roborock has the "Language pack" menu in the app where you can choose the language (only English and Chinese available right now). Hope the 360 manufacturer will add the same to their 360Smart app later. I'll try to reach the developer of the app and ask for this feature.

Hi Michael,

I have finally received mine (Black version) and would like to ask for some advice and post my experience. The ** bits are my questions.

I purchased mine from Ali, besides UPS being crap and almost panicked that they lost it "In Transit" it did arrive in one piece:)

First thing I did was to charge it to 100%, the moment I powered it on I was told that a new firmware was available, it updated but had to do a reboot for it to register. Also, the home charging base was dirty with remains from the protective sticky bit. I had to clean that off using a microfiber and some elbow grease. Not sure if it makes a difference for going back home but crystal clear is better me thinks.

First time I used it I had to to pause it as it got stuck in my shoe laces, the map was not saved. I also realised that you really need to clear the area for it. For example my sofa has a cover, the cover hangs at the back and the 360 saw the cover as a wall and never went beyond that to reach the wall.
I ran it a second time but this time it lost WiFi connection, it finished, got the message that it did, returned to base but map was not saved.
I ran it again for 2 minutes with the RC mode and both times the maps saved:)

**The annoying part is that the maps are available in History just not in the maps section. Is there any way to import the maps from the history into "Restore Maps"?

If you Google 360 S6 English Manual you can download it and print it out. The Chinese one was... well Chinese to me:)

**The 360 speaks in Chinese, cute as it may be I have no idea what it says. Do you know if there may be any plans to update the voices via a Firmware Update? Was this done for the Xiaomi?

**Regarding spare parts, did you get the chance to check if the Xiaomi parts fit this one? I got a set of parts but would be great to know so I can get a few from Amazon. Currently the only way to get 360 parts is from China, Ali or GearBest.

**Can I keep the 360 with the home base switched off from the plug in order to avoid damaging the battery? I imagine if it is constantly charging it my damage the cells? Just like my phone battery swells up if charged too much. I have done so and the battery went from %100 to %25 in 2.5 days.
Is there a way to switch the 360 completely off whilst not needed?

I would say that if left uncharged, not doing anything just WiFi connection it will drain the battery fully in 4 to 5 days.

Regarding WiFi connection, I really wished it came with a 5G transmission, cost for that is minimal and would avoid it losing connection. I am now trying to sort out a repeater/extender so that the 360 won't lose connection to the 2.4Ghz.

Thank you so much for such a detailed feedback.
The battery drains quickly when the robot unplugged, just like a laptop or smartphone, it has a powerful ARM processor inside and an own operating system.
You can turn off the robot completely by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds. After that, the battery will not discharge when you left it unplugged. However, all those robots have a charging controller and they are developed specially to be connected to the charging dock all the time, so I don't think that battery will die very fast if you will leave it connected to the charging dock. I used my previous robot vacuum for 3 years and the battery is still good to keep the charge.
Regarding the maps, I think it stores the map to the «Restore Maps» when it finished the job and returned to the charging dock. If you manually interrupt the cleaning process - it will not save the map to the "Restore Maps" section. Looks like there is no way to save it from the "History".
I got my device from GearBest and it comes with an English user manual in the box. And my robot speaks English. I think there are two versions of the robot: Chinese and International, and looks like on Aliexpress they sell Chinese version. If you want to switch the robot voice to English, you need to flash the international version of firmware. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do this. You can try to contact the manufacturer, maybe they have some instruction on how to change the firmware of the robot. They usually respond in a few hours on their Facebook page.
We have got the Xiaomi Roborock last week and will make a comparison between those two robot vacuums. Unfortunately, the Roborock has a different main brush, mop cloth, and other accessories, so you can't use the Roborock spare parts with the 360 S6. Have no idea if they are planning to sell the spare parts on Amazon in the future.
You are right, you need to clear the area every time before cleaning. As I mentioned in the comment above, any robot vacuum needs some preparation before cleaning, it takes two minutes for me to pick up all the wires and other small things from the floor before starting.

Do you mean the charging dock is not visible on the map? Try to start cleaning, then press "Return to dock" button, the robot should find the charging dock and it will appear on the map.

Did you try to share it via QR code?
The ID is your wife's phone number or email that you used when registered in the app on her phone. After sharing the device from your phone, open the 360Smart app on your wife's phone, go to the device sharing section, click the "Received" button, and then the "Approve" button.

Thanks to the LIDAR sensor, this robot vacuum build a map of your house and can recognize its location when working which means you don't need to pick it up and move to another room, it will find and clean all the rooms without any problems. After the robot has done its job it automatically finds and returns to its charging dock. Nothing is mentioned in the manual regarding this. In my opinion, you can add some washing liquid to the water tank, why not. Of course, it will clean better in this case, but you should not expect too much from the mopping feature. It won’t replace an actual mop but if you have somewhat clean floors it is still really nice to not have to worry about mopping everyday. I can say the same about all robot vacuums on the market with a mopping feature because they can not press the cleaning cloth hard enough to clean the heavily polluted places.

Thanks for that Michael. I was thinking just to maintain. We don't go inside the house with shoes on, slippers and socks only, the floors are as clean as they can be. Having someone else besides us making sure they stay clean would be greatt.

I am debating if the iRobot Braava 240/380 would be worth purchasing just for mopping. They cost pretty much the same as the Xiaomi S50 or the 360 S6 and they have no navigation.

Hi,

I did manage to get it working but was a lot of trial and error. Kept going back and forth, could have also been the fact that when I tried to log in initially, I did not select "International Users" then enter my phone.

Would you be able to let me know if the 360 S6 is able to use the Xiaomi S50 Accessories (Brushes, Mob Cloth and Filter)? The reason I am asking is that I have just purchased the robot however I can't seem to be able to buy any spare part, however there are lots of Xiaomi ones available. Looking at the photos they seem identical.

Glad that you solved the problem. I'm not sure if you can use the Xiaomi Roborock S50 accessories with the 360 S6 robot vacuum. However, you can buy original 360 S6 accessories on GearBest:

Yes, I think the accessories will be cheaper later.
You can find all the maps that were created by the robot in the "Restore map" menu. Just mark the map as favorite and select the map you needed when you move the robot to another floor.

Hi Robert. When I tried to create an account, I received an SMS with the confirmation code, entered this code, but nothing happened after clicking the confirmation button. Then I tried to log in and was successfully authorized. So please try to log in with your phone number and password even if the registration was not accomplished.

My problem is I did not receive an SMS to my Dutch phone number. I have a temporary fix by using an online text service to receive a sms to a U.S. number. So I have an account now based on a U.S. phonenumber. Furthermore I asked support to provide me an ‘own’ account with username/password.

For the European people. It is possible to install the English app. You have to create an iCloud account as a native U.S. resident so you can access the U.S. app store and download the app. If you have trouble with sms verification please comment. I can help you with that.

There is a solution for how to register without a phone number. Unfortunately, the 360Smart app doesn't have an opportunity to register with an email. However, you can use another app called 360 smart camera. This app uses the same server, so you can go with an account created in this app to authorize in the 360Smart app).
How to create an account in the 360 Smart Camera app:
1. Download the 360 Smart Camera app from the App Store or Google Play
2. Click the "Register" button in the app.
3. Click "Email Register" link down below.
4. Click "Email Register" link again.
5. Enter your email and password.
6. Check your mailbox and confirm the registration.
Now you can log in to the 360Smart app with your email and password.

The battery lasts approximately the same time with the mopping attachment and without it. Runtime depends on the suction mode, it can work up to 100 minutes in the "standard mode", about 120 minutes in the "quiet mode", and approximately one hour in the "powerful mode". It is worth mentioning, that the 360 S6 robot vacuum has the "recharge & resume" feature, so it can automatically continue cleaning after recharging if it did not finish the session on a single charge.

Hi Erik,
It is really hard to say which one is better. On the one hand, the Roborock has a little bit stronger suction power of 2000Pa, Amazon Alexa and Google Home support, and Xiaomi is a well-known brand. On the other hand, the 360 S6 comes with free additional spare accessories (a side brush, main brush, and HEPA filter).
The 360 S6 manufacturer can add Alexa and Google Home support to the app in the future. Check out the Roborock app, and our 360 S6 app screencast. I think the apps have very similar features, there are some small differences, but they are not significant. Unlike the Roborock, the 360 S6 remembers the map of each floor. If you bring the 360 S6 robot to another room, it will recognize its location, which the Roborock don't do. Also, the 360 S6 has restricted zones and specified zones, while the Roborock has only specified zones. Check out how the 360 S6 bypasses 3 restricted zones and clean one specified zone. Both robots have a great built quality and a very similar minimalistic look. I would say that they were constructed at the same factory, as they are very much similar in design and functionality. I don't think there is some difference in the mopping feature, because they both have the same water tank and cloth.
What I like in the 360 S6 robot, is the ability to hide the cable from the AC adapter inside the charging dock. The AC power adapter has a few types of plugs, which can be easily replaced. I also like the way how the dustbin removes. Since this is a new robot, that was released recently, I hope the manufacturer will update the app and the robot firmware and add even more cool features in the future. In a month or so we will have the opportunity to compare both robots and make a detailed review.

I have both the Roborock s50 and the 360 S6. While you can’t go wrong with either models I would prefer the 360 S6 over the Roborock for a couple reasons. On Gearbest they where selling the 360 S6 for $329.00 and Roborock s50 for $389.99 as of 10/23/2018. The Roborock does have a longer runtime and slightly higher suction but the 360 S6 can remember up to 10 floor plans and relocate it self within a floor plan if its physically moved. Can’t wait to see what the next versions of robot vacuums can do. Maybe this reviewer can do a comparison with the Roomba i7+? Thanks for the great detailed review!!!!!

Agree with you Nathan on this one. The Roborock does have higher suction though the difference doesn't really matter in everyday cleaning. I love that the 360 S6 can remember a few maps.
Hope we will have an opportunity to test the newest Roomba i7+. However, it doesn't have a lot of improvements compared to the Roomba 980. The Roomba i7+ has a new self-cleaning base and an improved app that allows you to divide your house by sectors, so you can clean some specific room just by telling Google Home or Alexa to "clean the kitchen". It has the same suction power of 1700Pa, and all other features are almost the same. It uses the same camera sensor that is less accurate compared to the LIDAR that the Roborock and 360 S6 have.

Yes, it can mop and sweep at the same time. The floors after mopping are slightly wet, so it is not a problem when it sweeps on the wet surface especially considering that the robot rarely goes through the same places twice (thanks to mapping and path planning feature). The robot suitable for slight wet mopping (if the floors are not too dirty). It can't handle ingrained dirt.

2) How is it about avoiding getting stuck? Can you trust it enough to «set and forget»?

The robot never stuck in my apartment. It is important to pick up all the wires and other little things from the floors before cleaning, so it always needs some quick preparation before cleaning. Worth mentioning that you need to do this preparation with any other robot vacuum.

3) How is it on medium pile carpet? Does the drive to the wheels have enough power to move it effectively over decent pile carpet?

It has big wheels and overcomes the border between the hardwood floors and the carpet with easily. Check out how it climbs the 0.7 inches plank. It works without any problems on my carpets, unlike my other robot vacuum ILIFE V7S, that stuck a lot on carpets (can't overcome the border when going from a hardwood floor to a carpet).

Download this beta version of the app and install it. Turn on the location permission for the app. Before connecting, turn off mobile data. Check if your Wi-Fi router works on the 2.4Ghz frequency band (not 5 GHz). Your Wi-Fi password must contain only Latin letters and numbers (if not - change it). Check if your Wi-Fi router uses WPA or WPA2 encryption (but not WEP).
