On July, 30 the Roborock S6 MaxV received a new firmware update that helps the robot to recognize socks, dustpans, and viewing photos of unknown objects.
So far only 30% of users received this update. No worries if you haven’t yet, the full roll-out will be completed by Wednesday, 5.

Privacy concern
As the Roborock S6 MaxV is a camera-based, there are some security aspects some users might worry about.
The Roborock team has worked closely with testing experts TUV-Rheinland to run penetration tests on the S6 MaxV and the robot has gotten a certification from TUV.
There are close to 60 tests in five categories covering user authorization and rights, privacy policy, privacy friendly settings, device cybersecurity, and app cybersecurity, to make sure Roborock S6 MaxV has no widespread security risks, and has adequate privacy protection level.
On top of this, the company has the partnership with Qualcomm and is basically everaging their maturity and experience in chipset security.
Certification info
The Roborock S6 MaxV is certififed by TUV Rheinland on ETSI TS 103645.
ETSI TS 103645 is a consumer IoT standard issued by ETSI (European Telecommunication Standardization Committee). Being awarded with TUV Rheinland's ETSI TS 103645 certificate means the product has reached a high cybersecurity level and privacy protection level. The certificate is valid worldwide and manufacturers can use the certificate as proof of compliance with GDPR. At present, there is no officially accredited GDPR compliance certification, and most companies on the market currently declare their compliance through other certifications.
Additionally, S6 MaxV has been verified in accordance with the special requirements of Californian Assembly Bill 375.
The data protection level and cybersecurity level are verified to be in conformity with Californian Consumer Privacy Act (CA AB 375).
