Does your Roborock S7, S7 MaxV, or Q7 perform poorly at picking up pet hair on carpets? Here is the fix

The Roborock S7, S7 MaxV, or Q7 that have new-style all-rubber brushroll owners might notice their robot is struggling with picking up pet and human hair on carpets. The new rubber brush does a good job picking up sand, debris, and fine particles on carpets and hard floors yet is not performing well with pet and human hair on carpets.

In the video down below you can see the Roborock S7 being tested with other robot vacuums & how they do on carpet with cat's hair.

As you can see, the Roborock S7 was the worst in the cat hair pick-up test.

How to improve the S7 cleaning performance?

The Roborock Q5 comes with a bristled brushroll that agitates pet hair much better compared to the newest style roller. You can replace the roller with the Q5's bristled brushroll.

The new roller that comes with the Q5 is similar to the Roborock S4 Max, S5 Max, and S6-series brush but this one is slightly thinner so it fits with the S7 and S7 MaxV.

The standard roller that comes with the older Roborock S4/S5/S6-series does not fit the S7.

Some YouTuber already tested both brushes and the Q5 brush performs much better with pet hair compared to the original brush:

Perhaps it's not worth replacing the brush if you don’t have pets. The rubber brush has some issues with hair on carpet, but it does a better job picking up other types of debris so it's up to you wether you do need the bristled brush as much or not.

You can buy the Q5 brush on Amazon for $17.99.
