So we all wished for a Roborock S7 to have object recognition. The S7 has it all, great cleaning performance on par with a self-emptying bin, and easy maintenance. But something still was missing. This January, Roborock releases its new product that has it all and even more. Let's talk about fully self-cleaning, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra.

The Roborock S6 MaxV and S7 mix
The newest model will be able to recognize objects the way the Roborock S6 MaxV does but would have the S7's extras in tandem with some new additions like advanced self-cleaning and auto-filling stations.
The robot "sees" small objects
The same as the S6 MaxV, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra has a camera that sees and positions small objects on the floor. Once, the robot recognizes somethings one way, it puts an icon on the map so you can see the avoided objects. It even identifies rooms down to their unique flooring materials, recommending ideal cleaning patterns such as suction power and scrub intensity.
I assume it would draw a carpeted area on the map recommending the right water and suction level/scrub intensity for such area. I am not sure what it would look like with hard floors, let's wait for the release. The robot recognizes and positions furniture in the app, allowing users to start a quick clean around dining tables or sofas with just a simple tap of an icon in the app.
Mops And vibrate
The VibraRise technology we've seen in the S7 would be also in the S7 MaxV Ultra. The robot will be able to rise the mopping plate on carpets which allows it to save time and clean both, hard floors and carpets at once. Additionally, the mopping plate vibrates creating more pressure to the floor so it mops efficiently.
Also, the robot is certified by TUV Rheinland for its cybersecurity safety standards.
What is the difference with the Roborock S7?
- new base
- object avoidance
- stronger suction
The S7 MaxV Ultra has an advanced self-cleaning system, is equipped with a camera for object avoidance, and has stronger suction.
The Dock That Does It All At Once
"Ultra" actually refers to a new, "ultra-dock" or Empty Wash Fill Dock. This is an intelligent docking system that self-empties, self-washes, and self-refills. So let's clarify, the previous self-cleaning dock only did empty the dustbin. The new dock sucks up the dust out of the dustbin, washes the mopping cloth in process, and auto-refill the 200 ml water tank when need. With all those additions, the robot does not only have a clean cloth as it mops but also can cover up to 300 square meters on one charge which is 50% more than its predecessors.
One dust bag can be used for up to 7 weeks. With all those additions, manual maintenance is being reduced significantly.
Roborock Q Series: Making Self-Emptying a Staple in Robotic Cleaning
The rumors say Roborock is aiming to make self-emptying stations available even for their mid-range products. The Roborock Q Series, specifically, the Roborock Q7 Max with a new dock, the Auto Empty Dock Pure in 2022, Q2. As we remember, the "Pure" refers to more affordable Roborock products.
The new docking systems upon the company’s first auto-empty dock that was recently named a 2022 CES Innovation Award Honoree for its convenience and ingenuity.
How much it will cost
The S7 MaxV Ultra will be available for purchase on Amazon in the United States in Q2 2022 for an MSRP of $1,399.99.
