Let's talk about the Dreame lineup. The premium X series, an affordable L series with an advanced self-cleaning station, and the basic D series, which lacks extras but offers a good deal for under $400.

Self-washing station
The X series has a redesigned compact station and a detergent tank that is compatible with any detergent. The station features:
- Auto-empty. Sucks the dustbin's content into the disposable bag.
- Auto-fill water & detergent.
- Auto-wash the mopping pads and washboard. Older models do not wash the washboard and wash the pads with cold water. The latest do so with hot water.
- Drying the mopping pads. The mopping pads are getting dried with hot water after mopping.
The Dreame X50 Ultra washes and dries the washboard with warm water and hot air.
Mopping
- Rotating pads for mopping.
- Extend the mopping pad and a side brush along the walls, twist and delve as deep as 1.57in (4cm), reaching further hidden debris under furniture.
- Leaving the pads on the station automatically when not needed (except for the X30 Ultra)
- Dirt Detection makes the robot rewash the pads and remop dirty areas twice. These models use more water.
- Lifting the pads on the carpet.
- Lifting the roller in a mopping-only mode.
Dirt Detection senses how dirty the pads are after the mopping is done, washes them, and gets the robot back to mop the same area twice. The latest models are more precise at it.
*for a smoother mopping experience, get the model with a station that uses hot water for washing the pads.
Best value
The next gen has more power, dirt detection, and lifts the side brush.
Extends a side brush and mop to reach walls and corners
Compared to the X50 Ultra, the X40 Ultra lacks hot water self-cleaning, the ProLeap system, advanced navigation, and the newest brushroll system. However, it is still a good buy for the price.
Top tier
The Dreame X50 Ultra is equipped with the Industry-First ProLeap system, which is a step that helps the robot to climb up to 1.65in.
The ProLeap works the way of a two-layer threshold, where the gap between steps should be greater than 1.57in.
Upgrades over the X40 Ultra:
- Higher crossing ability
- Advanced dirt detection
- Stronger suction
- Dual brushroll system
- Rectracts LDS under furniture
- AceClean DryBoard self-cleans with hot water & dries the washboard after
- Hot water pads washing
Smart Dirt Detection 2.0 checks the water to find stains and gives them a deep clean. This tech can tell apart solids, liquids, or a mix, making sure every spot is gone for a perfect clean.
Depending on cleaning tasks, the robot lifts the roller, mopping pads, and a side brush. This is the only robot in the series that uses two rollers.
The first two roller systems (bristled & rubber) maintain hair tangles and do the job on carpet and hard floor surfaces
Cleaning mechanics upgrades:
- Better carpet cleaning because of stronger suction.
- Higher obstacles crossed thanks to the ProLeap.
- Efficient pick up with dual roller system.
- Reaches under most furniture when retracting the LDS tower.
- Leaves no residue on the washboard after washing.
The AceClean DryBoard cleans and dries the dashboard so it doesn't stink after mopping.
The Dreame X50 Ultra is a better buy compared to the previous generations.
Dreame L series compared
The L series is a wide range of robots starting with an affordable under $500 price tag, with an advanced self-cleaning station.

Dreame L10s Series
Dreame L10s Pro Ultra
Mopping robot vacuum
The Dreame L10s Pro Ultra is the most-featured robot in the L10 series.
It is ideal if you are looking for a robot with premium features that don't cost that much compared to what the market offers.
Compared to the L10s Pro Ultra, the previous L10s Ultra lacks:
- suction
- hot water washing
- mop extend
- dirt detection
- larger water containers
- mop lift (0.28in)
The L10s Ultra is better in every way and often has a lower price tag, having a discount.
The L10S Ultra Gen 2:
Prioritizes suction and has RoboSwing, yet it misses hot water washing and advanced obstacle avoidance. You can get the Gen2 if you don't need mopping (especially hot water washing) and require stronger suction for carpets.
Dreame L20 Ultra
Dreame L20 and L30 Ultra stations have a different design. The Dreame L30 Ultra rarely comes with a discounted price tag, has more power, and uses hot water for mop wash.
Upgrades over the L10s series:
- auto-mop removal
- advanced obstacle avoidance
- new design station
- LED illumination in the dark
For a hundred dollars more, you get a smarter robot that lifts the roller on spills, has a different base, automatically removes the pads, and has Dirt Detection.
Navigation and cleaning upgrades:
- Advanced obstacle avoidance by using AI and illuminating the area in the dark.
- Removes the mops when they are not needed
However, compared to the L10s Pro Ultra, the L20 Ultra does not use hot water for washing.
Advanced obstacle avoidance
The robot is a great value if you don't mind that it uses cool water for washing the pads.
The good
Upgrades over the L20 Ultra:
- More suction
- Better climbing ability
- Dual brush design
- AceClean Dryboard
- Self-cleaning with hot water
- Hot water washing
The Dreame L40s Ultra has stronger suction and better obstacle avoidance.
EasyLeap helps the robot climb up to 1.57in high
The robot is a step up over the previous generations with stronger suction, better crossing abilities, and a newer brushroll design.
Performance upgrades:
- The dual brush design is more efficient at cleaning.
- 4 wheels help the robot cross higher obstacles.
- The station uses hot water to clean the pads and a washboard at the same time, leaving no dirt and water residue.
- More suction for better carpet cleaning performance.
Dreame L50 Ultra
Upgrades over the L40s Ultra:
- Stronger suction
- Better climbing ability
- Better navigation (obstacle avoidance)
- Dries the washboard after cleaning it
- Advanced obstacle avoidance with AI and 3D structured light
The Dreame L50 Ultra features the premium X series ProLeap system that ensures better climbing ability.
Features premium ProLeap system to cross obstacles
The station has the premium options such as hot water washing and drying the pads, water tank refill, cleaning solution, and self-emptying.
Compared to the X50 Ultra, the station does not fill the tank with hot water.
Upgraded station dries the washboard after self-cleaning
The upgraded AceClean DryBoard uses hot water for washing the pads and for self-cleaning. After that, it dries the washboard.
