Hi Natalie/Fellow robovac enthusiasts,
My old basic but very good iLife A4s recently died. I wanted to upgrade to something with mopping under $300. I initially went with the Roborock E4 Mop because of Roborock reputation in the midrange robovac market. But I found the E4 quite bad. It could not go over a 0.5 bathroom doorway, zigzagging back and forth over the same path for 7 minutes before stopping with infamous error 8. Also had issue with returning to home base, complaining that the connection needed to be cleaned. This is the first day I had gotten E4. After 4-5 runs, I had had enough and returned it.
I researched and found that LIDAR robovac with mopping is possible under $300. Looking at the 360 Robot S7 Pro ($290 final) and DreameTech D9 ($299). I was going to bypass the D9 due to this bad review but your review seems to contradict that review. I prefer your review as it shows the robovac working.
The D9 has some really nice enhancement over the S7 Pro. Larger electric water tank 270ml vs basic one 150ml on the S7 pro. More suction 3000 Pa vs 2000. Larger battery 5200mAh vs 3200 mAh. Lighter. Only cons are the multimap (which should be fixed by firmware) and slighter lower dBAs. Your website tool allowing to compare different robovacs is very nice and accurate.
Would you recommend the D9 over the S7 Pro? over the S9? I was impressed enough with the S7 Pro that I was thinking to go to the S9 for the electric water tank.
