Recently, Shark released its newest PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro robot vacuum. Taking the features this robot has, it is fair enough to compare it with the market's competitor, the Dreame X30 Ultra.

Both robots are manufacturers' premium products and use the same yet different technologies.
Both use LDS and 3D to navigate and avoid obstacles, have mopping, an innovative self-cleaning station, and anti-tangle technology. Moving on to the differences:
Auto-clean base
Both stations have a different design but follow the same things:
- auto-emptying
- auto-refilling
- mop washing
- mop drying
- self-cleaning
- dropping the mopping pads
The Dreame's station washes the pads with warm water and dries them with hot air. Additionally, it has an auto-solution refill.
Unlike Dreame, the Shark automatically drops the mopping pads and picks them up when needed.
The mopping technology is different, too
The Dreame uses dual mopping pad technology that rotates in opposite directions; lifts them on carpets; and extends&swings when cleaning along the walls. When the pads are unnecessary, the robot leaves them on the station.
The Shark has a standard single pad that extends to clean the corners and additionally uses a blast of air (in vacuum mode) to push debris into the robot's cleaning path. When noticing stains, the robot goes over the spot twice to remove it.
Dirt, Stain, Floor recognition.
The suction and mopping adjust technology is not the same for both robots. Dreame and Shark boost suction on carpet and dirty areas but behave differently in mopping mode.
Floor detect: Dreame boosts suction on carpet and lifts the pad to vacuum. In vacuum-only mode, it leaves the pads on the station. The Shark avoids carpets in mopping mode (or lifts it depending on the cleaning mode) and boosts suction in vacuum mode. It also leaves the pad on the station and picks it up when the robot needs it.
Stain detection: the Dreame's station knows when it needs to re-wash and re-mop the dirty areas so the robot gets back to the base and returns to mop the floor twice. The Shark goes over the same spot a few times when detects stains.
Edge detection: the Dreame extends and swings the mopping pad when mopping along the walls and under low-profile furniture. The Shark extends the pad along the walls and uses blasts of air to push debris into the robot's path (in vacuum mode).
Dreame X30 Ultra
The X30 Ultra is one of the best robots in the Dreame's lineup. It has a taller station which has more features than the Shark's base.
Dreame X30 Ultra
Mopping robot vacuum
Unlike Shark, the Dreame lifts the mopping pads and the roller depending on cleaning tasks. It uses gold-standard mopping pads for mopping and leaves them on the base in vacuum mode. In mopping mode, the robot lifts the roller or the pads when goes over the carpets.
The Dreame's station uses hot water for self-cleaning and mopping pad washing.
By using AI, the robot learns the most efficient way to clean the room, recommending the most suitable cleaning strategy.
The Dreame X30 Ultra is rich-featured robot vacuum for a big house
Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro
The Shark users NeverMiss Technology which helps to adapt suction and a mopping path on dirty areas, carpets, and along the edges.
Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro
Mopping robot vacuum
The cleaner uses a single mopping pad, has a shorter cleaning base, and leaves and picks up the pad when it's needed (other robots leave the pad on the base).
Unlike Dreame which fills the water tank with solution, the Shark has Odor Neutralizing technology and Shark's famous sealed anti-allergen filtration.
Shark PowerDetect uses new technologies and doesn't break your budget
Which one is better?
The Dreame X30 Ultra seems like a better option with the richer-in-features station, standard mopping technology, and AI for the best cleaning strategy.
On the other hand, the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro has better customer support (in the US), a better complete-seal filtration system, and blasts air into the walls for higher-quality vacuuming results.
The Shark is cheaper but the Dreame has more features. The Shark's station is smaller but the Dreame's base is smarter.
However, the Shark is a great value for the price and the company supports cutomers in the US
Let's not forget that the Shark is cheaper which makes it very attractive since it has features the others in this price range don't.
