Roborock Saros Z70 | The Robot That Moves Objects

On CES 2025, Roborock presented a robot vacuum that picks up objects and moves the socks which means, you don't have to tidy up the room before starting the robot. Sounds great, right? What we know so far:

What's new?

  • Let's talk about the OMNI Grip Arm

It's an innovative way of removing objects on the robot's way so you don't have to. During its first cleaning session, the Roborock Saros Z70 marks all objects it detects to lift and clean that missed area when circling back after the clean for the second time. The robot also relocates the objects (up to 300g) when it's blocking them from going to an uncleaned area.

The Arm is equipped with  LED lights, a camera, and other sensors. With the second camera located on the robot's front, the robot sees the environment from a higher spot for better accuracy when needed to move the objects. That bunch of sensors helps the arm to determine its position, surroundings, and the weight of each object it grips.

You can control the whole gripping or relocating process via the Roborock app.

  • Auto Mop Removal

The Roborock Saros Series automatically identifies when the robot initiates the vacuum-only task and leaves the mopping pads on the base. It helps to prevent the unwanted dampness. (Needs to be activated in the Roborock app)

  • Warm water autofill

The Saros series is the first lineup that refills the water tank with warm water.

Cleaning mechanics

The new Dual Anti-tangle system keeps the side brush, main roller, and omni wheel clean, making maintenance easier than ever.

FlexiArm Riser: when cleaning along the walls and corners, the robot extends its side sweeper and a mop to get deeper into corners.

AdaptLift Chassis: the chassis helps the robot to climb up to 4cm thanks to a three-wheel control for versatility lifting. Depending on task, the robot lifts a side sweeper, main brush or mopping pad, or everything at once.

StarSight 2.0 & object recognition

The StarSight 2.0 is an upgraded version of the previous StarSight we've seen in the Roborock Qrevo Slim.

It is a bunch of sensors that scan the environment creating a 3D map to minimize bumping into things. Thanks to that, the Roborock Saros is only 7.8 cm tall and can get under most furniture. With VertiBeam obstacle avoidance technology, the robot maneuvers around irregular walls and furniture and even avoids unfolded cables.

The Roborock Saros has the most advanced object recognition technology in the lineup.

Mopping

Two of three robots have a double-rotating mopping system with FlexiArm design mop which means the robot extends the mop along the walls and corners.

The Roborock Saros 10 has a Vibrarise 4.0 system. It is a solid pad that vibrates. In addition to this, the robot has a small wheel for extra edge cleaning too. When detecting stains like coffee spills, the robot lifts its omni wheel ensuring extra pressure with the mop.

The Saros series automatically detects when the mopping pad is unnecessary and leaves it on the base before vacuuming.

Smartly, the robot detects when the brush or mopping pad is not needed and lifts it automatically.

Pet-friendly robot

When operating, the robot detects a pet and stops; during cleanups takes pictures of your pet that you can download; allows video calling and talking to your pet in two-way voice chat.

Multifunctional Dock 4.0

The Multi-Functional base stands by 8-in-1 Hands-Free maintenance. It does the following things:

  1. Self-empty
  2. Auto-wash the mops with hot water
  3. Auto-fill the water tank with warm water
  4. Cleans the dock base with hot water
  5. The detachable dock base has an upgraded design so it stays nice and clean after every wash with hot water and it is detachable
  6. Dries the mopping pads with hot air
  7. DirtDetect monitors the dirt levels adjusting the wash duration and if it detects heavy stains, the robot returns to the dock to re-wash the mops
  8. Fast charging & Off-peak charging
  9. Removes the mop when the robot is on a vacuum-only mode
  10. Fill the water tank with detergent

All you have to do is fill the water container and start the robot.

The RockDock Ultra 2.0 (Saros 10) doesn't have a detachable base and smart re-wash & re-mop.

Roborock Saros Z70

The most advanced

Roborock Saros Z70

Has a mechanical arm that moves the objects on the way

The Saros Z70 has the innovative OMNI Grip Arm that helps a lot with objects making getting the floors done before vacuuming easier. You don't have to move the shoes or cables off the floor, the robot will do it on its own.

With the most advanced object recognition, the Saros Z70 has the most precise navigation.

The Roborock Saros Z70 is the most innovative robot vacuum so far

Roborock Saros 10

Upgraded station

Roborock Saros 10

Has a vibrating mopping pad

The Saros 10 has a vibrating mopping pad and a different base, It still has object recognition and a powerful motor yet it does not intelligently identify when it needs to re-wash the pad or re-mop some areas.

The robot is a premium machine that doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the best Saros Z70.

Ideal if you don't need extras

Roborock Saros 10R

Upgraded station

Roborock Saros 10R

The better station

The Saros 10R has the same Multifunctional base as the Saros Z70 with intelligent re-wash and re-mop technology, and double rotating mopping pads.

It does have object recognition but it is not as advanced.

The robot has 22k Pa of power which makes the Saros series the most powerful in the industry.

To Sum Up

The Saros is not on the market so we don't know the price yet. All we know is that is the most advanced lineup in the Roborock series and the Saros Z70 is the most innovative robot vacuum ever created.
