360 SmartAI is going to release a new mopping robot, the 360 M20 Octopus mopping robot. This model is already available in China as the 360 K7, but it looks like 360 will sell this model under the 360 M20 name on the international market.
The new 360 M20 mopping robot has a unique mopping system. It uses four spinning mopping pads and can cover a much wider area in one pass than other robot mops. This unique design also helps the robot better reach corners and areas near the walls.
The robot itself reminds me of the 360 S10 robot vacuum as it also has a Lidar hidden inside the body and the overall design of the top case is very similar. However, unlike the S10, the M20 can’t vacuum the floors. It’s a dedicated mopping robot. The robot’s body is only 7.9 cm tall, so it fits under furniture where other Lidar robot vacuums can’t. An ultrasonic sensor detects carpets, so the robot will avoid them while mopping.
The robot comes with an auto washing & drying base. At the moment, there is a lack of info about the robot, but it seems like there is no water tank inside the robot. It will return to the base a few times per cleaning cycle, wash the mopping pads and continue cleaning from the spot it left off. The base holds two large water containers, 4L for clean water and 3.5L for dirty water. You can connect it to the plumbing system in your house, so you don’t need to refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water container.
So far we don’t know when the 360 M20 will be available on the market, probably this summer or autumn.
