I like my honiture q6 but it won’t got into 1 room not sure why . It’s seem not to want to cross the metal carpet bar . Other that that great vacuum cleaner .

Ive just bought one of these. The app has been removed from the Google Playstore. Had to download another from APK mirror. It's atrocious. Can't even label rooms, so cant Google Home and voice commands to send it to certain rooms. I've no idea how its got all these good reviews.

I returned my first Honiture Q6 because it would not self empty - it would simply "wiggle" to connect but never would.

MY second one is also about to go back and here are the reasons:
1. I have two area carpets - these have a pattern on them - while the first Q6 vacuumed them just fine - the second one gets stuck and confused by the pattern and thinks that it is about to fall off the edge and alarms.

2. The app has not been updated and is really poor - See many of Dave's remarks.
3. while the vacuum itself is nice - the control of it is really poor. The app is very buggy and irritating regularly.
4. technical support is non-existent for this device

If someone from the company calls me this may be salvageable but if I don't hear from someone in 48 hours this one is going back as well and I will be purchasing a different brand.

I am having a really difficult time deciding if i return the Honiture if there is one that will meet my needs - my wants are:
1. automatic recharging
2. automatic emptying of the bin
3. really powerful application that lets me schedule cleanings as well as control immediate room cleaning and spot cleaning
4. I would like the mopping feature to be included but that is not a deal breaker

I would like to pay around $500 but would pay more for the perfect vacuum - but I don't see one that does all of these - do you know of one to recommend?

If you need a large battery, the only way is to look at the ECOVACS T8 AIVI but it costs a lot especially with the base. The Roomba i7/i6/i8 has the best self-emptying system but also a smaller battery. A perfect robot vacuum simply does not exist. The S9 has a bigger battery but also would cost you much more than $500.

I just purchased this vacuum cleaner and I’m already stuck; at the “reset” phase I press the two buttons simultaneously but instead of the home button turning blue as it’s supposed to, the robot turns off...
Any thoughts as to what I’m doing wrong?

I have a Q5, not a Q6, but on it, I pushed only the button with the house icon, not both at once. The first one I got never connected, but the replacement I just got does. It announces something like "smartlink"--not sure exactly what it said--and then the wifi symbol starts to flash like it's supposed to.

Very frustrated - I have been using this vacuum now for a couple of weeks and while it does many things nicely, every time it is assigned to do the entire house all of the no go zones are gone.

I had to map these diligently and it took a while and they keep disappearing - Unless I can get a resolution for this I will be returning the vacuum.

If you go to "record" there's numerous maps from times it previously vacuumed. Choose one of the maps with no go areas still there and reinstate that map. This feature is actually pretty good. I had a problem with it saying main brush error from a time when it got stuck. Even though there was no obstruction. I switched maps and it stopped the error, so there must be a glitch were certain parameters get stuck with the map.

The most disappointing thing about the vacuum is the scheduling feature for specific rooms. You set it to clean a specific room on a certain day and it automatically defaults to whole house cleaning. It will not save. I reached out to the company and no response.

Hopefully this is a setting that I am missing - I THOUGHT that when the Q6 got a battery low that it would stop vacuuming and go back to the base and RECHARGE and then RESTART cleaning where it left off.

It gets halfway through the house, battery is about 25 percent - it goes back and charges and never comes back out to finish.

Any ideas?

Hey Bill, try to search around the app and see whether there is something like a continuous cleaning or resumption in menu. It may be off so you have to turn it on.

After thinking about this - I believe that when it got down to about 25% battery life left before I manually pushed RECHARGE to send it back to the charger. When I did that it did not come back out to finish - when I left it on its' own to go back to get charged up it DID come back out - so leaving it alone and letting it run itself and charge itself works a treat.

I am also interested in using Alexa - I can say "Alexa, Start Guido" (guido is what I call my robot) and it will start but it does the entire house when I do that - I would like to say "Alexa, Start Guido and clean the kitchen and have it do just that room -

The app lets me have room names but I cannot assign them to anything. Any guidance or ideas that anyone has would be appreciated.

I jut purchased the Q6 and had a difficult time syncing it with Alexa - the key is to use the Smart Life skill - when you enable it you will be able to use the Honysmart option. Wow - THAT was a very long effort.

Now - I have figured out how to get a map back - but on this map there were several rooms that I did not add in the initial mapping phase that I would like to add.

What is the easiest way to add a room to the main floor - it was always there I just had the door closed and now would like to have it recognize and add the master bedroom.

Yes - I have a rather large house - (over 5000 sq feet). I tried to open the door and tell it to do the "zone" in front of the door - but it would go to the door and not go through - obviously because the zone is marked.

I then tried to do the entire house with the door open and it takes it two hours to do the entire house as currently marked and when I came back it had not added any rooms. So - I think that there simply has to be a way to make it do the other rooms - I just do not know how to do it.

I don't know as I never tested one. If you manually place the robot in that room, will it scan the room or start the new map? In any case, you can always delete the current map and start the robot again with the door open this time.
With the Roborock this problem can be solved by resplitting the room, try that with the Noriture too.

Struggling with my Q6 mapping. Robot went crazy with my first mapping and refused to go to rooms. I remapped and was working great until there was an area I wanted to vacuum. I created an “area “, only to find out that was an exclusion feature. It labeled it room 1 and now I can’t for the life of me delete it. Help!

Some more info:

The vacuum does *not* automatically select a map matching an area where it has been. It has to be manually done via the "restore" function in the app. Maybe there's a way - Honiture claims the machine stores three maps all by itself, but I have not been able to find it.

The auto boost for carpet might work on longer-pile carpets. On my thickest carpet with 1/2" pile, it'll just occasionally increase the speed. I have to manually increase the speed if I want extra cleaning.

I bought some white duct tape and found that two layers (pieces) carefully cut and applied over each of the cliff sensors now makes it work flawlessly with my favorite carpet with strongly contrasting color areas. With only one layer of tape it made it most of the way through, yet jerked along a bit on one area of strongest contrast.

The apparent US seller for Honiture on Amazon made available this accessories kit for $39.99, in just the past day or so: https://www.amazon.com/HONITURE-Accessories-Brushes-Disposal-Permanent/dp/B08L584PR6

I'm also pretty sure this kit for the Neabot NoMo, $39.99 for many more parts but no mops and white color instead of black, is compatible: https://www.amazon.com/Neabot-Robot-Vacuum-Accessories-All/dp/B08HKFHHHV

There are other kits with what I believe to be compatible filters, side brushes and maybe even mops, but the above is the only one I have found with a compatible brush roller. The ends are different on all other rollers I've found so far. If anyone has contrary info, that'd be most welcome.

Now confirmed that parts are available, it's a keeper. :-) I look forward to more third-party accessories options for the Honiture Q6.

As an option you can try to put the robot into an area it hasn't mapped and see if it saves the second map. I did with my robots to check multimapping. It had a bedroom, kitchen, and living room as three separate maps. But I believe it has to start from the dock. Some robots create a new map without the dock but most require one.

It does save maps - all of them, so long as the app remains installed. It's necessary to go back to one of the saved maps and "restore" it in the app. Honiture's response to me implies the machine itself saves three maps. However there's no way I see to select them; it has to be done in the app, and only from the set of saved ones *in the app*.

Keeping in mind the app is v1.0.0, there are many minor annoyances, like this. It basically works fine, and could work much better. My feedback to Honiture is that I like the vacuum a lot, and when the app is revised with substantial bug fixes, only then would I give it five stars. That's because the app has a lot of rough edges, and the app is a very large part of making use of the vacuum.

Honiture replied with a little more info:

1. The auto-boost function requires a relatively long-pile carpet. My half-inch pile carpet didn't consistently trigger it, and now doesn't at all with tape over the cliff sensors. I'm okay with that and will manually increase the suction on that carpet as desired. My floors are almost all hardwood and tile, with only two large area rugs and two smaller ones. One of the smaller rugs has inch-long , quarter-inch thick "fingers" for the pile. The Honiture Q6 does a great job with it, never becoming stuck.

2. They promise to try and improve the cliff sensor function. Until then, I'll use tape so it doesn't get stuck in the middle of my striped carpet. Here's their response: "Now you can hide it in some area if you need this." I take that to mean hide the carpet. Not going to do that.

...and am happy to say that although the side brushes are white (vs. black), all the parts are dimensionally identical to those on the Honiture Q6, critically including the brush roller. Along with the few spare accessories included with the vacuum, I should now be set for the next year plus.

This also means at least the Neabot NoMo is an identical vacuum hardware-wise, just without a mop attachment, and it's white. In fact, I better like it's appearance and almost bought it instead. With coupon the Honiture Q6 was maybe $30 less and had a mop, even if it's of little use to me, so I went that way. So far, so good.

Oh wow, you have a lot of questions for the company :) Sometimes the apps can be frustrating and the language is confusing too. I do hope they will fix most labels so at least it is understandable. To me "No-drag Zone" means nothing, I'd be very confused.

I received the Q6 today and so far, so good. I'll need much more than one day to give it a full workout, yet first impressions can be interesting, so here goes:

. The mapping was almost flawless and was fascinating to watch the LIDAR quickly pick up the room outline as it entered each one. It only missed the far 3 ft. or so of my master bedroom, and otherwise did a great job throughout the house. While it was still cleaning in the master, I paused it and placed it in the area it missed, after which it mapped and cleaned that too. First time out, including the initial mapping, it ran for 111 minutes through ~1750 sq. ft. The battery was at 45% when it finished and headed back to the base. I expect later runs to be quicker.

. The cleanout base is noisy alright, though no more than a standard vacuum, and it runs for only 10 seconds or so and can run (an empty cycle) manually on demand, on every one, second or third dockings. The vacuum never failed to dock for charging or emptying, and interesting it has to turn itself around 180 degrees to empty vs. charge.

. In that initial mapping/cleaning it got caught and needed "rescued" three times - twice on wires and once on the base of a mic stand. The wires I get and I don't blame the vacuum. The mic stand base gradually slopes from about 1/2 inch to one inch thick at its center, and was just high enough for the vacuum to back into the base and completely lift itself off its own wheels. All easily fixed by slight rearrangements.

. Very good obstacle avoidance. It'd do a methodical circle around anything it encounters and only lightly touches obstacles. A few lightweight things it did push around. It also impressively navigated a labyrinth of closely-spaced chair legs under a dining room table. The vacuuming pattern in open spaces after mapping is very precise, like a precision lawn mower. It can get pretty squiggly when it has to avoid a lot of obstacles though. Occasionally it seemed to miss an area in a room, then just before leaving the room zip over and clean the missed area.

. Pretty quiet on the default "standard" suction setting. The highest setting adds a soft whir/whine and overall is a bit louder. Even the high suction setting is much quieter than my conventional Shark vacuum.

. There's an "auto boost" toggle in the app that's supposed to increase the suction when it senses carpet. Maybe that worked, but I didn't hear the motor pitch change any. I did manually increase the suction to max to ensure it got cat hair off a medium pile area rug.

. It seemed to get a little confused with swoopy dark and light areas of color on a large area rug - the same one with the cat hair. My guess is the cliff sensors were triggering. It kind of wiggled around at a couple dark/light boundary areas, yet did end up vacuuming everything, albeit taking longer to do that piece of carpet. That area was also where it became stuck on the mic stand, in the midst of some wiggling around.

. The v1.0.0 app released in August 2020 has a lot of promise, and is kind of difficult to navigate. At least it didn't crash. There was one obscure area of partial translation with a few items in English and a bunch in Chinese. The main mapping screen has a typo: "Ceaning" instead of "Cleaning" and shows square meters to track the area cleaned in each session. I'm fine with metric and just don't expect to see it in a US/English localization. All the features I could want seem to be there, except I have not yet figured out how to do multiple maps (for multi-floor houses or other non-contiguous areas).

. One neat feature is the area clean. I drew a rectangle on the map where there's a Persian rug and hit "Start." The Q6 left its base and sped into the room, did a careful, complete cleaning pattern exactly covering the rug, then headed back to its base three rooms or so away. It even took a different route to return to the base, than it did to get to the rug.

. The mopping tank is very tiny and relies on water basically leaking onto the pad to "mop." I didn't buy it for this purpose and will probably just use it to vacuum.

. The warranty is *two* years, not one as stated on this site.

. My two cats are cautiously fascinated with this thing. One even started following it around.

At their invitation I emailed Honiture support with about ten questions and comments - most of them about the app, and a request for the free gift they promised, if I contacted them. My choice among the gifts was easy - an $80 Amazon gift card. The others were a dust buster-like vacuum, accessory kit or spare battery. With $80 I can buy a compatible accessory kit *and* a battery on Amazon with maybe $10 left over.

The enclosed gift card asks that initial contact with them be made at support02@honiture.com.

It also says - don't know if it's true: "Due to Amazon's rules, once a customer makes a comment, our seller cannot find the buyer's contact information and quickly resolve the issue." This is why they want that initial contact via email.

After five days, they replied this morning to all my questions/bug reports. I'll share all the questions and responses after I decipher the unfortunately difficult-to-understand English. Get ready for another long post, ha ha!

I've also of course run the vacuum some more and learned a few more things about the app. Overall it has done well and I'm happy. The only major problem so far is an area carpet with sweeping dark/light areas. It literally got trapped in the middle of that carpet a few days ago - between what it sensed as two "cliffs." It turns out this is hardly unique; many vacuums have the same problem, notably Roomba. My plan for that is to buy some foil and white tape today to cover the four IR cliff sensors, as I don't need cliff detection in my house, that beautiful rug stays, and vacuuming that rug is essential (or it gets returned). Covering the sensors with some makeshift white tape (that started to come off) worked. Thin masking tape didn't, nor did black electrical tape. Instructions may be found on the net to modify the IR cliff sensors so they're always "on" - basically pointing the TX and RX at each other. I like that solution, though at this point I'm not going to open the vacuum and void my warranty.

It would be much better to have an option in the app to disable those sensors. I plan to tell them of the carpet problem and suggest the option.

I don't know many robots that can go over black carpets or to say more I know a few only and I would not recommend them. Other than covering cliff sensors I don't think there are many solutions to solve this problem.

Here are the questions, and my best translation of the answers - quoted where I can't figure out what they mean:

1. What is the purpose of adding rooms in Room Management? I don't see how they are used, other than designating a room in which a device can be placed. I deleted all the rooms and everything works normally with my one device. Being able to label rooms on the map display would be valuable, for instance.

A. "Adding a room to the room management is to more clearly identify the area on the map, which area is the bedroom/living room." My comment: I still have no idea how to identify a room on the map. There's no apparent link between room management and the map, at least that I've found.

2. In the device map display screen, at bottom center "Ceaning time" is misspelled. I believe you meant "Cleaning time."

A. Fixing.

3. The total area cleaned is shown in square meters. While that's OK, I'd prefer to have it in square feet. (We use inches and feet in the United States, as a localization.)

4. The label "Suction LV" is a little confusing. I think you mean Suction Level, and "LV" isn't a recognized abbreviation for "level" in English. A better label would be just "Suction" if there's not room for "Suction Level."

5. In my automatically-created floor map, there are two rooms/areas that appear almost the same color. I've been unable to correct this by splitting and joining regions for either of those rooms. Is this a bug, or is there a way for me to ensure adjacent rooms have contrasting colors?

A. "Whether the APP is the latest APP, create a floor map, you need to clean the entire area before you can divide the area, and you can also split and merge the areas." My comment: They didn't understand the question. I even said I was able to split and join regions. The problem is two almost-identical colors for adjacent rooms, making it look like one large room.

6. Clicking on "Area" in the main map screen, I see two options: "Add area" (creates a red area) and "No-drag zone" (creates an orange area). Are these actually a "No-go area" and "No-mop area" respectively? If so, please correct the English labels in the next version of your app. The current labels are confusing.

A. You're correct - fixing.

7. How are multiple levels/floors mapped in a house? That is, areas not reachable directly from the charging base. This implies multiple maps. I read this is a feature of the app. Assuming that's correct, please tell me how to do it.

"The Q6 machine can save up to 3 maps of different floors, which can be picked up on different floors, the cleaning records of the previous floors can be found in the cleaning records, and the maps can be restored."

I'll test this later. They seem to be saying the machine will automatically know which map to use, up to three. More than that, fourth map on must be restored from the "Record" menu, the list of jobs. It appears the app saves the map from each cleaning job.

8. I have the Auto Boost toggle enabled, but don't notice it increasing suction on carpets. What are the conditions under which Auto Boost may be seen, or is it working as I expect?

A. It only works if set to low or mid suction. That makes sense, yet not quite: Since sending the question, I have occasionally observed it go to high suction by itself on a 1/2" pile area rug. However, it takes about 15 sec moving in a straight line on the rug before it increases the speed. This might be ok on a fully-carpeted area. Not so much on an 8x10 area rug.

9. What are the camera and microphone app permissions used for?

A. There's no camera nor mic in the machine. In the app the mic permission isn't used. My comment: Since emailing this question, I discovered the camera in the app allows taking a picture in order to make an icon. At present I disabled all permissions - location, camera and mic in the app, and it seems to work normally.

10. Under Smart, when adding Automation and when device status changes, most of the function labels are shown in Chinese characters. Would you please provide English localization/translations for all functions?

A. They have updated the app and some Chinese localization has been fixed. My comment: I have not yet seen a new version in the Google Play Store. I believe they mean they've just checked in changes internally, for a later public release.

I just ordered one of these from Amazon and hope it works well, my first robot vacuum.

Parts don't concern me too much, as it appears to be basically the same as these three and perhaps others: Neabot Nomo, Proscenic M7 Pro and Kyvol Cybovac S31. The differences appear to be limited to the app, cosmetics and the mop assembly.

I chose the Honiture Q6 over the others primarily because its app supports multiple maps - unlike at least the Neabot, and with an available $100 coupon was a reasonable $460 today.

Does anyone know how to set a second home on the Q6? I have a two story house and every time I take the vacuum upstairs it erases the downstairs map. It was suggested to me to create a second home in the app for the upstairs but I cannot figure out how to do that and Honiture customer service did not get back to me when I asked the question.

I like my honiture q6 . What I do not like is not having a website for questions.
I need to know how to set up vacuum app again , where to by replacement parts or get new instructions because I lost the original instructions.
I ask questions on amazon and no one reply’s .
I hoping someone will contact me with the information I need.

Sorry to hear that. I tried to find their website or any other official contact information, but no success.
This model looks very similar to some other robot vacuums, such as the Proscenic M7 Pro. I think both robots made by the same OEM manufacturer, so they can use similar or identical accessories and spare parts. Hope this helps.

I also bought a Q6 from Amazon 3 weeks ago. Can not find any web site regarding replacement parts. No tech support replies from support.Honiture.com.
Their website has nothing to do with vacuums. Amazon is of no help either.
The Q6 does the job well but I will need replacement parts sometime.
Can anyone help?
