Dibea is a well-known brand that produces upright vacuums and robot cleaners. We already heard of the Dibea D960. We are happy to review the newest robot from the family model line - the Dibea GT200. It is the same D-shape cleaner with a few new features. The new vacuum has mapping based on the gyroscope. With a budget price tag, does the new Dibea offer enough? Let's find out.
Dibea GT200 video review and cleaning test
Appearance
The Dibea GT200 has a D-shape body that supposed to clean closer to walls and edges, under beds, sofas, kickstands though it is not always easy for the robot to turn around because of its shape. There are two buttons located on the top: start/stop and home. The design of the Dibea GT200 is minimalist. Aside of the two buttons, there is the "push" button that allows the dustbin to pull out from the side. Switching between water container and dustbin is easy. Just slide the box from the side until it clicks.
Underneath there is the main brush that is a mix of rubber and bristles for better performance on bare floors and thin carpets. Two large wheels help the robot to move around the house without being stuck between a bare floor and carpet.
Two side sweepers catch dirt from edges and corners, transfer it to the dustbin where along with the main brush, the suction power sucks it inside the dustbin. To make the Dibea working in the wet mode all you need is insert the water container (filling with water), and press start.
Please note that the wet mode is not able to get rid of stubborn stains yet is enough to keep your bare floors polished.
The Dibea GT200 is integrated with Amazon Alexa and Google Home and can be controlled by voice if you own any of them.
What we like about the Dibea GT200
- Thin body. It has one of the slimmest body that is able to get hard-to-reach places under most of the furniture
- Though it has no issues getting over medium-pile carpets and thresholds.
- The robot is able to clean thin and medium-pile carpets. Thanks to mopping, the Dibea GT200 is suitable for bare floors as well.
- The dustbin/water container is easy to pull out. Just press the "push" button and get it from the side.
- The charging dock hides the cable from behind itself same as the 360 S6 station does.
- It makes a nice noise when cleaning producing only 60 dB. The robot works quietly, you are able to keep a conversation going when it's cleaning in the same room.
- The Dibea GT200 has a bunch of accessories in the box.
Something to keep in mind
- Side sweepers get hair wrapped inside as easy as the main brush does.
- Gyroscope navigation is hardly called perfect. The machine can't find its way around the room. It runs in the same direction over and over again until its battery runs out of energy.
- Two side sweepers were supposed to clean better yet these things run too fast which is not good when you need to pick up something from the floor, it could transfer it far from the spot because of its high-speed level.
- Obstacle sensors are not very good at recognizing dark-shade furniture. It bumps a bit harsh into it through the robot slows down before walls and big objects that are not dark.
- Sometimes the robot loses Wi-Fi connection.
- The cleaning brush is a mix of rubber with bristles is easy to get hair wrapped around. You literally need to clean it after every session if someone from your family has long hair. Aside from that, the brush works well on bare floors and thin/medium-pile carpets.
- The map is not accurate.
- The D-shape form doesn't make it easy for the robot to turn around near furniture.
Battery life
The cleaner has a pretty decent battery life. A 1,600 mAh Li-ion battery lasts up to 120-150 minutes before it needs to recharge.
App & cleaning modes
The Dibea app is very intuitive to understand. You can start/stop the Dibea, switch between cleaning modes; set strong, normal and quiet suction level; schedule the machine; find the robot, view the map and track the Dibea in real-time; check cleaning history, see battery level, send the cleaner to its charging base, and manually control the Dibea GT200.
- Cleaning modes:
Auto - the robot runs in a purposeful pattern when it recognizes obstacles, the vacuum leaves marks on the app thus creates a map of the cleaned area. You can not interact with the map. It works as a report.
Spot - the Dibea provides deep cleaning on a specific spot that is dirtier than other areas.
Edge - makes the cleaner to work along edges and walls.
You can control the robot vacuum via an IR remote controller.
What the Dibea GT200 is good for
- Thanks to the mopping, the robot is suitable for homes with bare flooring
- Its suction is enough to deep clean thin and medium-pile carpets. Perfect for houses with mixed surfaces
- For pet owners who don't have carpets
- Small and medium-sized houses
- Minimalist design or rooms with a few pieces of furniture inside. The robot doesn't have chances to get lost or get stuck somewhere between chair legs etc.
- Do you own Amazon Alexa or Google Home? The Dibea is compatible with both.

- Pet owners whose house covered with carpets mostly
- If you have taller than 15mm thresholds

What in the box
Final thought: to buy or not to buy?
The Dibea GT200 is a bit overpriced. It is able to clean your floors though it is not as efficient as those that have LIDAR (mapping based on a laser). The robot is good for homes that are not big with almost no carpets. The GT200 has one of the strongest suction power in its price range though. If you run it often it will decrease the need of using an upright vacuum. Its slim body is one of the best features of the cleaner, the robot can get hard-to-reach places where your upright vacuum might not reach.
Mapping isn't efficient, the robot runs over the same spots more than once. Even though we think its mapping technology isn't perfect yet it's better to go with the Dibea GT200 than other robot cleaners with random navigation.
Thanks to the big water container, the robot covers a large home area when mopping. The robot is perfect for bare floors.
D-shape helps it to clean corners better. The Dibea GT200 supports Amazon Alexa and Google Home which is a rare find for its price.
In short, the Dibea GT200 is suitable for homes with thin carpets, mixed surfaces, and bare floors. Because of its long-lasting battery, the robot fits great in small and medium-sized houses. The Dibea GT200 is one of the best budget cleaners worth buying in 2018.
