Xiaomi Mi Vacuum Mop P STYJ02YM country to select during setup

Xiaomi Mi Vacuum Mop P STYJ02YM

i read with the Xioami  vacums,, that you have to set the country as china or it wont work. another comment said you dont need to do that anymore.

I dont think once you set  your location you can change it,  if this is true I wouldn't be able to change the country setting should the one I select not work with the device . Any suggestions please?

Hi, if we change settings to China mainland, would we be able to change the voice of the vacuum cleaner to English?

Any update if there would be an English voice pack for the Chinese version in the near future?

Unfortunately I don't know. Would love to tho

My vacuum does not speak English. Once it accidentally changed its voice to English and then got back speaking Chinese with the next update. So I don't know how to change the robot's language unfortunately

You can change the region in the app settings anytime later, it's not a problem. Set the region to Mainland China only if you have a Chinese version (comes with Chinese manual and speaks Chinese) since it doesn't work with any other regions. If you got an International version, you should choose your country (it will not work with the Chinese region).

thanks so much for explaining that to me :) May I please ask
2 questions.

does it matter if it has a Chinese plug and au adapter?
what is the difference between global version and English version?

Michael ⋅ 4 years, 1 month ago #

The plug type doesn't matter, you can use a plug adapter. I guess the English and global version is the same robot vacuum.

how will I know if I receive an international version please Micheal?
Also if it is a chinese or an international version, is it possible to make the machine itself speak english?

If it's not mentioned anywhere on the product page, the only way to find out is to ask the seller. Unfortunately, it's not possible to make the Chinese version speak English, at least at the moment. I hope Xiaomi will add the ability to choose the voice language in the app settings in the future, but it's not available currently.

I couldnt get a straight answer from the seller and had to purchase the last one before there was no more stock here is the link

any idea what I purchased and if I will be able to make the robot itself speak to me in english?

Michael ⋅ 4 years, 1 month ago #

I checked the product page but didn't find any mention of which version is it. Unfortunately, there is no way to switch the language of the robot in the app. I hope the option will be added in the future since the old Xiaomi Mi Robot has the language settings in the app.

mummyrabbit ⋅ 4 years, 1 month ago #

thanks Micheal, would make the app unusable to someone who speaks only english ?

Michael ⋅ 4 years, 1 month ago #

The app is in English so it's not a problem. I meant the language settings for the robot's voice, not the app.

mummyrabbit ⋅ 4 years, 1 month ago #

I did ask the sellers that question and they assure me that it is possible to change the language the actual robot speaks to english

"The robot can speak English, but their default language is Chinese, you need to change its language to English via Mijia APP"

I am referring to the Xiaomi Mi Vacuum Mop P STYJ02YM. May I ask what model you are referring to? Perhaps its a different model?

Michael ⋅ 4 years, 1 month ago #

Yes, I'm talking about the same model. Strange, I was not able to find the voice language settings in the app.

I still cant get a response from the seller, I dont want the chinese version that cant speak english, Ive requested to cancel the sale as the seller is saying the voice can be changed to english which s not true. The link is for the same robot from a different seller, it says global version, am I able to change the voice to english for a global version please? ps:are global and international version the same thing?

Yes, the global and international version is the same thing, so it should be with an English voice by default.
