Both robots are best-of-the-best on the market. The two are best at navigation & avoiding objects, cleaning performance, and ease of use.
Self-cleaning station
The self-cleaning station has a different design but shares the same functions:
Self-emptying.
Auto-wash and dry the mopping attachment with warm water and hot air. The Dreame's station washes the pads at a higher temperature.
Auto water and cleaning solution refill.
Auto wash the station washboard. The washboard automatically gets cleaned during mop cleaning. The Dreame dries the board to leave it fresh and streak-free.
The two stations are the most featured in the market.
Mapping & navigation
The Roborock uses LDS, while the Dreame has VersaLift DToF which retracts the tower under furniture making the robot shorter.
Pet-friendly robot vacuum
Roborock: With AI, it wanders around your home to find your pet, takes snaps, which you can download later, and stops and avoids the pet when the robot stumbles upon it during cleaning. You can video call, talk to your pet, and manage the robot's movement from the app.
Dreame: smartly recommends a Pet's zone and avoids it, auto boosts power to catch large particles like cat litter, allows remote interaction with pets, and talks to them with live voice and video monitoring.
Mopping
Both use the same mopping technology.
Each robot extends a mop and side brush along the walls. Depending on the cleaning task, both lift the mop and rollers; the Dreame additionally lifts the side brush.
In a vacuuming-only mode, the Dreame leaves the mops on the station
Roborock Qrevo Curv
The Roborock Qrevo Curv has a unique self-cleaning station, new obstacle climbing technology and a zero tangle rollers.
The Roborock Qrevo Curv detects dirt and then goes to the station to re-wash the mops and re-mop the area. The station doesn't have a cleaning solution refill, but it has three temperature settings to wash the mopping pads.
The robot smartly suggests No-Go zones when it can't go to certain areas. With the AdaptiLift Chassis, the robot can climb up to 4 cm if there is a 3cm step, so it does two steps overcoming the standard threshold.
The Roborock Qrevo Curv is a premium robot vacuum, one of the best on the market
Dreame X50 Ultra
Unlike Roborock, the Dreame X50 Ultra leaves the mopping pads on the station, lifts the side brush, has retractable legs to overstep the thresholds, and hides the tower under furniture.
Dreame X50 Ultra
The best in the lineup
The station has the same features, except one temperature settings for mop washing, and auto detergent refill. The upgraded dirt detection can tell apart solids, liquids, or a mix, making sure every spot is gone for a perfect clean. Unlike Roborock which has re-wash and re-mop features, the Dreame additionally recognizes dirt.
Retractable legs help the robot to overcome thresholds up to 5.99 cm IF there is a shorter step. It easily steps over 1.65in single-layer thresholds and 0.71in obstacles if it has a chance for two steps.
The robot gets 89mm short under low-profile furniture
To sum up
The two premium devices do their job as a vacuum and deliver a smooth mopping experience with a rich-featured self-cleaning station.
The Dreame X50 Ultra has more power and better climbing ability, the retractable tower is a new thing as well. Overall, it has more features compared to the Roborock, yet since it is a new robot, it might take some time for the manufacturer to improve the new technologies so it works the way it should.
The Roborock Qrevo Curv has a completely different self-cleaning station with everything you need for cleaning, it adapts to the cleaning environment and smartly suggests a cleaning strategy based on the previous run. Roborock has great customer support and is known for its solid quality.
When taking to account that the Roborock is cheaper, it still looks like a better option even tho it doesn't have the extra features the Dreame does.
