Ecovacs recently developed its new flagship lineup, the DEEBOT X1, X2, and X5 OMNI. The DEEBOT X1 OMNI is the cheapest, lacks some features yet still has more options than most robot vacuums.

The X1 OMNI vs. X1 Turbo vs. X1 Plus
The three have the same cleaning specs and mechanics instead of the two things: cleaning stations and mopping technologies. The Ecovacs Deebot X1 OMNI and Turbo use OZMO Turbo mopping technology with two spinning scabbing mopping pads. The X1 Plus, on the other hand, uses an OZMO Pro mopping system with an oscillating mopping plate.
The DEEBOT X1 Plus has a short self-emptying station. It does not wash the mopping pad nor dry it out. Instead of having two rotating mopping pads, it has one that vibrates. Additionally, it is the only robot with an air freshener.
The DEEBOT X1 Turbo has a bigger station that washes the pads and dries them out with cool air yet does not have an auto-emptying feature. Two rotating mops do not lift on carpet. Unlike the OMNI base, the Turbo base dries the mopping pad with cold hair, which takes a bit longer (6 hours vs. 2 hours).
The Deebot X1 OMNI has an all-in-one station that washes and dries the pads with hot water and hot air, empties the dustbin, and refills the water tank. The mopping system is the same.
It also has a larger water tank: 200 ml vs. 80 ml in the X1 OMNI and X1 Turbo. But the smaller water tank size in the X1 OMNI/Turbo doesn't really matter as these robots have an automatic water refilling base.
Other than that, there seem to be no differences between these robot vacuums. The main difference is in the automatic base stations that come with the robots.

Washes and auto-empties itself
The flagship of the X1 series.
The DEEBOT X2 and X5 series
Starting with the X2 series, these robots use the new AINA navigation technologies. It includes a dual-laser Lidar that makes the robot's body shorter thanks to which the robot reaches under most furniture, and AIVI 3D 2.0 object recognition technology. Also, the X2 and X5 series have a wider D-shape body with a long 20 cm cleaning brush.
Compared to the DEEBOT X1 series, the newest models lift the mopping pads up to 15 mm.
Auto-cleaning bases
The latest models have rich-featured stations that do the following things:
- Auto-empty the dustbin
- Auto-refill the water tank
- Auto-wash the mopping pads
- Auto-dry the pads with hot air
The stations have a detachable tray. The only difference is the X5 OMNI has a self-cleaning mode for the whole station including cleaning the tray.
The newest ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI
It has three modifications: Deebot X2 OMNI, Deebot X2 Combo, and Deebot X2 Combo Complete which is technically the same Combo with additional cleaning tools.
Ecovacs Deebot X2 OMNI
The newest navigation technology with accurate object recognition
This model has upgraded navigation and avoidance technology so is better at figuring out your home compared to the previous X1 OMNI.
It has more power and a bigger battery which makes it perfect for big houses covered with carpets. The newest dual-laser LIDAR navigation technology detects objects up to 10 meters away at a 210-degree angle so the robot doesn't get stuck around furniture.
Deebot X2 Combo
The Combo modification has more power and comes with a handheld vacuum that includes extra cleaning tools.
The main difference between it and the X2 OMNI is a two-way self-emptying system that sucks out the robot's dustbin content and the handheld dust cup dirt. The robot vacuum and handheld share one 3L disposable bag.
Deebot X5 OMNI
The DEEBOT X5 OMNI is the most powerful and rich-featured robot vacuum in the whole ECOVACS lineup.
The robot's newest navigation system makes cleaning more accurate identifying small objects and avoiding them. The upgraded Zero Tangle roller fits the pet owners and basically everyone since marinating the roller might be annoying. The base does it all, additionally washing the tray so you don't have to worry about cleaning it for up to 150 days.
TruEdge Adaptive Edge Mopping
The robot extends the mopping pad when cleaning along the walls and edges.
With the AINA 2.0 intelligent navigation, the Deebot X5 OMNI is the smartest and most accurate robot in the lineup.
To sum up
The DEEBOT X1 PLUS uses a mopping plate and is mostly made as a vacuum with a mopping ability. So not the best option if you are looking for a robot vacuum that would clean hard floors.
The DEEBOT X1 Turbo is more of a mopping robot vacuum that doesn't have the self-emptying function. Made for cleaning hard floors yet is recommended to wash the pads manually since the station dries them with cool air to prevent odors.
The DEEBOT X1 OMNI is an all-in-one machine that dries the pads with hot air and has a self-emptying feature. So it is a good choice for homes with a mixed surface and pet owners.
The DEEBOT X2 OMNI lifts up the mopping pads instead of avoiding carpets, has all the features the X1 OMNI does, is a lot more powerful, and has a better navigation system. So I would recommend the X2 OMNI if you need this mopping experience. For those who looking for a handheld vacuum, consider getting the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo. And if you need a cordless vacuum cleaner, have a look at the Deebot X2 Combo Complete.
Given the upgraded cleaning mechanics, more power, edge mopping, tray washing, and zerotangle technology, the DEEBOT X5 OMNI is the best to buy in 2025.
