Things the L series shares
The newest models have extras, but most technologies remain the same for all modifications.
Mopping system:
- Two rotating pads
- Pads rising on carpet
- Mop extend
- Electric water tank
- Intelligent re-wash and re-mop (some models)
- Auto remove the pads (some models)
With the advanced station, the robot identifies the level of the pad's dirtiness to go back and mop the same area for a second time. These models use more water.
The L series has the most common two rotating pad system that gets washed and dried after every cycle.
Self-washing station that features:
- Auto-empty. Sucks the dustbin's content into the disposable bag.
- Auto-fill water & detergent.
- Auto-wash the mopping pads and washboard. The L10s Pro Ultra, L30, and L40 use hot water to wash the pads, while others do not.
- Drying the mopping pads. The mopping pads are getting dried with hot air after mopping.
Dirt Detection senses how dirty the pads are after the mopping is done, washes them, and gets the robot back to mop the same area twice. The latest models are more precise at it.
LDS navigation & obstacle avoidance technology
The newer modifications identify more types of objects to avoid.
App features
The robots have all the features you want in a modern smart robot, like no-go zones, zoned cleaning, and room cleaning, which are common for all models. There is also scheduling, cleaning sequence, maintenance information, and other options.
- Zoned cleaning and room cleaning are area cleaning. You can send the robot to clean a particular room or a zone.
- No-go zones keep the robot off certain areas, like pet bowls or cluttered areas.
- Water level and suction power can be switched in the app, too.
- The later models support saving multiple maps and allow setting no-mop zones. No-mop zones are active only with a mopping attachment on and are made for avoiding carpets when the robot mops the floors, while no-go zones keep the robot off particular areas altogether.
- Also, scheduling might have additional features in the latest models.
Dreame L10s Series
The L10s Pro Gen 2 is the cheapest with no self-emptying station. It has all the same features as the L10s Pro but comes with a standard charging base in the box.
The affordable L10s Ultra has a different base that washes and dries the pads, but it is not as powerful as the L10s Plus. The robot is better for mopping.
Compared to the L10s Pro Ultra, the previous L10s Ultra lacks:
- suction
- hot water washing
- mop extend
- dirt detection
- larger water containers
- mop lift (0.28in)
The L10s Ultra is better in every way and often has a lower price tag, having a discount.
Dreame L10s Pro Ultra
Dreame L10s Pro Ultra
Mopping robot vacuum
The Dreame L10s Pro Ultra is the most-featured robot in the L10 series.
It is ideal if you are looking for a robot with premium features that don't cost that much compared to what the market offers.
Dreame L10S Ultra Gen 2
Compared to the previous version, the Gen2 prioritizes suction and has RoboSwing, yet it misses hot water washing and advanced obstacle avoidance.
Better for homes with carpets and some hard floor areas since mopping is not as advanced.
You can get the Gen2 if you don't need mopping (especially hot water washing) and require stronger suction for carpets.
Dreame L10s Pro Ultra vs Dreame L10S Ultra Gen 2
- Mop Extend vs. RoboSwing
- Suction power
- Hot water for mop washing vs cool water
- Dirt Detection vs. lack of it
The Dreame L10s Pro Ultra is a better mopping robot with extra features; the Gen 2 has more power but is not as advanced at mopping as the Pro Ultra.
Dreame L20 Ultra
Dreame L20 and L30 Ultra stations have a different design. The Dreame L30 rarely comes with a discounted price tag, has more power, and uses hot water for mop wash.
The L20, L30, and L40 Ultra rise the roller, leave the mops when the robot is in a vacuum mode, and have a smart plan that adapts to the environment and adjusts settings to each room.
Upgrades over the L10s series:
- auto-mop removal
- advanced obstacle avoidance
- new design station
- LED illumination in the dark
Dreame L20 Ultra
Mopping robot vacuum
For a hundred dollars more, you get a smarter robot that lifts the roller on spills, has a different base, automatically removes the pads, and has Dirt Detection.
Navigation and cleaning upgrades:
- Advanced obstacle avoidance by using AI and illuminating the area in the dark.
- Removes the mops when they are not needed
However, compared to the L10s Pro Ultra, the L20 Ultra does not use hot water for washing.
Advanced obstacle avoidance
The robot is a great value if you don't mind that it uses cool water for washing the pads.
The good
Upgrades over the L20 Ultra:
- More suction
- Better climbing ability
- Dual brush design
- AceClean Dryboard
- Self-cleaning with hot water
- Hot water washing
The Dreame L40s Ultra has stronger suction and better obstacle avoidance.
EasyLeap helps the robot climb up to 1.57in high
The robot is a step up over the previous generations with stronger suction, better crossing abilities, and a newer brushroll design.
Performance upgrades:
- The dual brush design is more efficient at cleaning.
- 4 wheels help the robot cross higher obstacles.
- The station uses hot water to clean the pads and a washboard at the same time, leaving no dirt and water residue.
- More suction for better carpet cleaning performance.
Compared to the L50 Ultra, the L40s Ultra lacks
Dreame L50 Ultra
Upgrades over the L40s Ultra:
- Stronger suction
- Better climbing ability
- Dries the washboard after cleaning it
- Advanced obstacle avoidance with AI and 3D structured light
The Dreame L50 Ultra features the premium X series ProLeap system that ensures better climbing ability.
Features premium ProLeap system to cross obstacles
The station has the premium options such as hot water washing and drying the pads, water tank refill, cleaning solution, and self-emptying.
Upgraded station dries the washboard after self-cleaning
The upgraded AceClean DryBoard uses hot water for washing the pads and for self-cleaning. After that, it dries the washboard.
What to buy
Best value: Dreame L40s Ultra
The robot lacks some extras, such as advanced navigation or drying the washboard after cleaning. However, it has many of the premium features, other models on the market lack.
The Dreame L50 Ultra looks like the top-tier X50 Ultra, though users report the L50 Ultra's cleaning and navigation can feel more fluid. If you are willing to spend more, have a look at the L50 Ultra, which might be even better at some aspects than the X50 Ultra.
Affordable buy: Dreame L10S Ultra Gen 2 or Dreame L10s Pro Ultra
The Gen 2 is a good buy as a vacuum, while the Pro Ultra is a better mopping robot.
