The two have the same mopping system that includes an OZMO roller and two onboard water tanks. This technology outperforms other robots with a standard mopping system.
The main difference
Self-cleaning station: the X9 Pro OMNI refills the tank with hot water and self-cleans with hot water too. The X8 Pro Omni does it with cool water.
Blast tech that optimizes high airflow and strong suction without reducing battery life. Made for deep carpet cleaning.
Lifting technology: the X8 Pro Omni lifts the OZMO roller, while the X9 Pro has a triple lift technology: side sweeper, main roller, and OZMO roller.
Zero-tangle: Both robots resist hair tangles, however, the X9 Pro Omni has an upgraded 3.0 system with a new side sweeper.
The good
The DEEBOT X8 Pro is an upgraded mopping robot with a new mopping system that includes an OZMO roller, an extendable side brush, and two onboard water tanks for clean and waste water.
Key features:
- OZMO roller mop
- Extendable side brush and mop
- Two onboard water tanks
- RoomBase temperature
- Upgraded obstacle avoidance
Ecovacs DEEBOT X8 Pro OMNI
A new mopping technology
The X8 Pro OMNI uses an OZMO roller mop and has an onboard water tank for wasted water, so the roller stays clean and fresh throughout the mopping cycle.
The onboard temperature-controlled mop washing chooses the right temperature for washing the roller. The X8 Pro OMNI extends the side brush and a roller along the walls and around tight spaces.
Room-Base Clean: Upgraded navigation and obstacle avoidance technology make navigation neat and efficient.
The DEEBOT X8 Pro is a good performer but is not as good as the newest model
The newest: better for carpets
The newest X9 Pro has a zero-tangle system, an anti-tangle side brush, and a V-shaped roller brush that prevents hair wrapping.
DEEBOT X9 Pro upgrades:
- BLAST Airflow Suction
- Triple lift (side brush, OZMO roller, brushroll)
- Auto detergent dispenser
- YIKO voice assistant support
- Advanced Dirt Detection
- Hot water tank refill
- Hot water self-cleaning
Ecovacs DEEBOT X9 Pro OMNI
A new Blast Tech provides deep carpet cleaning
Unlike the DEEBOT X8 Pro OMNI, the newest X9 Pro OMNI features a triple lift system that adapts to the cleaning task, lifting a side brush, roller, or mopping roller as needed. The mopping system is the same, except for filling the water tank with hot water.
A new Blast technology combines suction and airflow for deep carpet cleaning
While higher suction drains battery life, Blast optimizes both by 3x airflow and strong suction, delivering deeper cleaning and extending runtime.
More pickup efficiency, better carpet cleaning
Even tho the robot has lower suction numbers, thanks to the Blast, it has more efficiency at deep carpet cleaning.
An upgraded self-cleaning station fills the water tank with hot water and self-cleans with hot water too, while the previous gen does so with cool water.
Which one to buy in 2025?
With the newest tech and upgraded cleaning station, the DEEBOT X9 Pro OMNI seems to be better in every possible way.
However, if you don't need advanced hot water mopping or extra power, get the DEEBOT X8 Pro OMNI.
When the X9 Pro Omni is on sale, the price is the same, so why get an older model?
