The improvements:
The T90 is basically the “everything upgraded” version of the T80
1. Mopping: T90 is noticeably better. This is the biggest upgrade.
The T90 gets:
- larger OZMO Roller 3.0,
- better edge extension,
- stronger roller washing,
- better carpet lift,
- cleaner edge performance.
The T80 already mops very well — much better than traditional spinning-pad robots — but the T90 is closer to X12-level mopping performance.
2. Obstacle avoidance is much smarter on T90
This is probably the second-biggest difference.
The T90’s AIVI 4.0 system recognizes:
- cables,
- pet messes,
- small objects,
- toys,
- thin obstacles
more reliably than the T80’s older AIVI 3.0 system.
3. T80 has much better battery endurance
This is one underrated advantage.
The T80 has a 6,400 mAh battery vs 4,000 mAh on the T90.
However, the T90 compensates with very fast charging.
T80 OMNI
DEEBOT T80 Omni
Has a short body
This robot has a different mopping system that includes an OZMO roller that is tangle-free and gets cleaned during mopping, thanks to two onboard water tanks.
With the new system, the station adjusts the washing temperature depending on the room.
Unlike the previous model, the T80 OMNI station does not auto-fill the solution and doesn't have Blast tech. However, it fills the tank with hot water.
An alternative to the premium X9 Pro
T90 The Newest
Highlights:
- 30,000 Pa suction (higher than many flagships),
- OZMO Roller 3.0 roller mop,
- continuous self-cleaning mop roller,
- fast charging (“PowerBoost”),
- upgraded anti-tangle brush,
- AI obstacle avoidance (AIVI 4.0).
DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni
Automatically fills the tank with detergent
The Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI is basically ECOVACS’ attempt to bring most of the X12 flagship technology into a cheaper price tier.
The T90 sits in an unusual position:
- much cheaper than the X12 series,
- but with many of the same cleaning technologies.
Several reviewers describe it as a “flagship killer” because its mopping system is extremely close to the X12 generation
Reviewers consistently say its mopping performance is stronger than most dual-pad robots
Compared with X12:
- you lose some premium automation,
- but save a lot of money.
Sum up
If your home has:
- sticky kitchen floors,
- pets,
- lots of hard flooring,
- frequent wet messes.
The T90 Pro Omni is clearly the more advanced robot overall, but the T80 gets surprisingly close considering the price gap.
