Roborock E4. What it brings and what has been changed over the Roborock Xiaowa E3

Roborock E4 vs. Roborock Xiaowa E3. What has been changed & is there a reason to update your robot?

Video made by Jamie Andrews

The Roborock E4 is available to buy on Amazon for $239.99.

The Roborock E4 is an upgraded version of the Roborock Xiaowa E2 and E3. It is 10% more efficient which means it finishes cleaning faster than the Xiaowa series.

The robot is gyroscope-guided which means it doesn’t scan the surroundings, it creates a map of your home as it cleans. The map is not as precise as the one built by LDS and camera-based robots and does not allow interacting with it. It means you can’t set no-go zones to keep the robot off some areas or set where it should clean or send it to clean a particular room if needed.

Comparing to the S series, the E4 is not as fast and efficient but it still does a great job on both surfaces.

One of the nicest things about the new robot is you can buy mopping attachments separately. Now if you want a cheaper robot but don’t need mopping, you can buy the E4. If you do want the robot to mop, you still have the option of buying the tools separately.

The water tank is 180 ml and has a switch that allows setting water output for light and heavier jobs.

The E4 has a large battery with a long runtime and strong suction. It senses carpeted surface and boosts suction on one automatically. A big dustbin is clear which is new for Roborock models and has a HEPA filter that can be washed with water.

The robot is not compatible with the Roborock app but you can connect it to the Mi Home. It allows tracking it in real-time, start, and stop the robot as well as setting cleaning mode.

The Roborock E4 is suitable for hard floors, low and medium-pile carpets

Because of not having the tower with the laser on top, the robot has a shorter body that allows reaching the places under most furniture.

To conclude:

The Roborock E4 is a great robot vacuum with good cleaning abilities suitable for carpet and hard floors. It is a budget yet powerful machine for small and bigger homes with a clean layout, for those who suffer from allergies and have pets.
