A few ECOVACS DEEBOT robots are now available to buy on Gearbest:
DEEBOT N79S: ~$210
DEEBOT 901: ~$315
DEEBOT DE55 (900): ~$340
DEEBOT OZMO 930: ~$445
One of the biggest things you should keep in mind about these Deebots is that they are not suitable for medium-pile carpets. They are not powerful enough to suck up the debris of carpet and also can’t climb on one because of the climbing ability which is 14-16 mm.
A few words about each robot vacuum and what is the differences between them.
The Deebot N79S is the cheapest and most baseline robot vacuum. It does not have mopping and does not have strong suction power. Not suitable for medium-pile carpets but is okay for homes with thin carpets and hard floors. If you have pets that shed and some low-pile carpets and rugs, you need to run the N79S more often to clean pet hair better.
What is most important — this robot has random navigation. It bounces around in a pretty much random way until its battery dies and might miss a few spots when cleaning. Cleaning is more efficient in small homes. Because of no Lidar on top, it is shorter, which means it can go under most furniture. It also can be controlled by voice if you have Alexa or Google Home.
The ECOVACS Deebot N79S is ideal for those who are looking for a budget robot vacuum, who do not have thick carpets and are not picky about smart features such as mapping and virtual boundaries.
The Deebot 901 and DE55 (which is also called the deebot 900) are the same robots with only one difference in color. These are laser-guided robots and they can build a map of your home layout making navigation more efficient because the robot knows where to go. You can track the robot’s movements in real-time.
Because of the robot’s «head» with the LDS laser inside it is a bit taller than the N79S so if you have some furniture with a smaller gap, keep that in mind.
In the box with the 901 and DE55, you will find the main cleaning brush and a tangle-free suction inlet. The inlet is essential for pet and long human hair while the cleaning brush provides better agitation on carpets.
Each of these models is suitable for low-pile carpets and hard floors. The app supports no-go zones and room cleaning. You can also set it to work within a particular area.
If you don’t need mopping and do not have thick carpets but want a smart and mapping capable robot vacuum, go with the Deebot 901/DE55(900).
The Deebot Ozmo 930 is very similar to the previous model except for mopping ability and carpet boost. This model is also not suitable for thicker carpets but is good for homes with hard floor areas to mop. The Ozmo 930 recognizes carpeted surface which you can see in the app. In mopping mode, it avoids carpets automatically. You can also set no-go zones to make sure the robot will not dampen your carpets.
The same as the Deebot 900, the Ozmo 930 comes equipped with two cleaning things: the main brushroll and suction inlet.
When the Ozmo recognizes the carpeted surface, it turns on suction to provide better cleaning.
If you want a robot with mopping and have a big hard floor area, no thick carpets and live in an average home, go with the DEEBOT OZMO 930.
