Both of the Roombas have the same suction power that delivers 600 Pa. Barrier cross height is the same which means the Roomba 671 and 690 are able to clean carpets that are not thicker than 15 mm. Both run for 90 minutes.

What is different?

Unfortunately, iRobot does not provide many specifications. One of them its a dustbin size. Approximately, the Roomba 671 has a 350 ml dustbin capacity which is not as big as the Roomba 690 600 ml container. Roomba 671 is slightly shorter than 690. Roomba 690 comes with a virtual wall in the box. The most significant improvements Roomba 690 has - dirt detect. A bunch of sensors is able to recognize high-traffic areas providing deeper cleaning on those spots. Roomba 671 lacks this option.

Which Roomba is the best buy?

Both Roombas 671 and 690 are very similar. A few differences make the Roomba 690 more attractive to buy. And it is trendy on Amazon having many good consumer reviews. Dirt detect is very helpful on carpets, if carpets cover your home, we would recommend getting the Roomba 690.
