The main differences between the Neato Botvac D7 Connected and Roomba i7+

  1. Neato uses LIDAR mapping technology that is based on a laser. It is more accurate than a camera sensor the Roomba has. The camera requires a light on in the cleaning room and has issues with cleaning dark shade carpets. Neato is able to work in the dark and can clean black carpets
  2. The Botvac D7 Connected stores 3 different floor plans in memory; the Roomba i7+ - up to 10
  3. The Roomba i7+ comes equipped with a clean base automatic dirt disposal that automatically empties content of the robot's dust bin into an enclosed, disposable bag that holds 30 robot bins
  4. Thanks to D-shape, the Botvac works better on corners
  5. Roomba automatically increases air power once it recognizes carpeted surface. The Neato has Turbo mode that provides deep cleaning on carpets/rugs
  6. The Roomba i7 is equipped with silicone rubber rollers that are perfect for pet hair since they are tangle-free and aware of minimum maintenance. The Neato has a Spiral Combo brush that was designed to pick up pet hair. Both robots are great for pet owners, the Roomba is better in terms of maintenance
  7. Neato has stronger suction power of 2,000 Pa compared to the Roomba's 1,700 Pa
  8. The Roomba has dirt detect that provides deep cleaning on the dirtiest spots. The vacuum is able to recognize the most high-traffic areas.
  9. The Roomba has a full bin indicator that shows when the container gets full. You can also see it in the app
  10. In the Neato app, you can set many No-Go Lines that block a robot from crossing particular zones. The Neato box contains a magnetic tape to physically block it. The Roomba i7+ has a dual virtual wall barrier that does the same that No-Go Lines, you have to place it manually
  11. In the iRobot Home app, you can name each room after the Roomba i7+ has created the map. When it's done, you can schedule the vacuum to clean the room you have chosen. The D7 Connected also has zone cleaning. You can set it by drawing a rectangle on a created map and schedule the robot to work on those areas
  12. Because the LIDAR is more accurate, the Neato navigation system is slightly better than Roomba's
  13. The Roomba i7+ is a bit shorter than the D7 Connected which makes it fit under most furniture
  14. The Botvac D7 Connected lasts longer than the Roomba i7+ which makes it suitable for bigger houses
  15. Find me feature helps to locate the Botvac in your home
  16. The Neato Botvac D7 Connected is $500 cheaper than the Roomba i7+
  17. Because of the wide cleaning brush, the Botvac D7 Connected covers more cleaning area spending less time to finish.
