What the DEEBOT 900 and Ozmo 930 share:
On the lid of the DEEBOT, there is "tower" with an LDS laser housed inside. This laser works to scan the surroundings that lead to creating a floor layout. The map helps it to navigate around, know where the furniture is and where it needs to clean. Mapping makes cleaning more efficient because the vacuum avoids going over the same spots twice and does not leave untouched spots.
2. Suction power.
Both DEEBOT models come with a motor that delivers 1,000 Pa of suction.
3. Runtime & resuming cleaning
When the DEEBOT cleans your house, and it doesn't finish cleaning the whole thing in one charge, it'll automatically recharge itself and when it's done charging it'll finish cleaning.
This option and 100 minutes of runtime make the DEEBOT suitable for average and bigger homes.
4. Alexa support
DEEBOT Ozmo 930 and 900 are both compatible with Alexa-enabled devices and Google Home. If you own any of these, you can control the vacuum with your voice.
5. Restricted areas
In the ECOVACS app, you can set restricted areas where you don't want your robot to go. The amount of these areas are unlimited.
6. Zone cleaning
If you need the vacuum to clean within one particular room, you can set zoned cleaning in the app and let the cleaner do the job.
7. Prioritizing areas
This option allows prioritizing some areas the robot cleaner should vacuum first.
8. Navigation pattern
After the map has been created, the robot calculates the most efficient way of cleaning.
The DEEBOT moves back-and-forth in straight lines methodically covering the floor until it is done.
9. Suction inlet in the box
In the package with the DEEBOT Ozmo 930 and 900, there are main brush and suction inlet.
The brush agitates dust and dirt performing better on carpets while the inlet prevents hair clogging and supposed to work on hard floor.
Which is the best DEEBOT to get? The difference between the two ECOVACS
1. The 900 is shorter
DEEBOT 900 has a shorter body and fits under most furniture. The Ozmo 930 is a bit taller.
2. Ozmo mops
ECOVACS DEEBOT 930 comes equipped with the OZMO technology that provides better mopping cleaning performance.
The water does not leak when the Ozmo 930 is not moving.
DEEBOT 900 does not support mopping.
3. Level of water dripping.
In the app, you can control the level of water dripping, so the cloth mop does not go too dry or too wet.
4. Carpet identification
The Ozmo 930 is equipped with sensors that recognize carpeted surface. You can see it in the app, once the DEEBOT created a map, there will be a difference between the bare and carpeted flooring.
This feature helps the robot to avoid carpets when mopping. With other cleaners, you have to set restricted areas or physically block it.
5. Carpet boosts
As we said before, the DEEBOT Ozmo 930 is able to recognize carpets. Once it steps on one of these, its suction automatically boosts to the max level ensuring deeper cleaning.
On Amazon, the ECOVACS DEEBOT 900 costs around $370. The ECOVACS DEEBOT Ozmo 930 comes with a $550 price tag.
DEEBOT war: is Ozmo 930 better than 900?
Please note, both DEEBOTS are suitable for thin carpets and bare floor, but the suction power is not enough to provide deep carpet cleaning especially if you have pets and thick carpets.
The DEEBOT 900 has a reasonable price tag, is suitable for thin carpets and bare floor even though it lacks mopping. As we said before if your home is covered with thick carpets that are higher than 18 mm, the DEEBOT 900 would not be the best robot vacuum to get. Again, it will go and sweep your carpets but do not expect deep cleaning. This model is very helpful as an additional machine to your traditional vacuum. Running it more often decreases the needs of vacuuming with the traditional one. The DEEBOT 900 is ideal for pet hair and homes with hard flooring and occasional rugs.
The Ozmo 930 is a flagship model in the family. Yes, it costs more than the DEEBOT 900, but it has some useful features like mopping, carpet identification, etc. Unfortunately, if you have carpets that are thicker than 16 mm, the Ozmo 930 would not suit it. The best thing about the OZMO 930 is avoiding carpets when mopping. If you need a vacuum cleaner with mopping, your home has some thin carpets and mostly bare floor; you have a dog or cat - the DEEBOT Ozmo 930 is an ideal robot vacuum for your home.
