Xiaomi Mijia STYTJ02HZM 1T

Xiaomi has released its most advanced and most powerful robot vacuum that also is the longest-lasting, the Xiaomi Mijia STYTJ02HZM 1T. It has a front camera that recognizes objects and has the most efficient navigation in the lineup. Let’s talk about what we know so far.

What has been added

This is the first model in the lineup that recognizes small objects. It also is the first cleaner that has room select and is not Lidar-guided.

A big 5,200 mAh battery is the largest among other Xiaomi robots and makes the 1T ideal for big homes.

Increased suction power up to 3,000 Pa and the biggest water tank in the family.

The Xiaomi Mijia STYTJ02HZM 1T is the lingest-lasting and most intelligent robot vacuum in the lineup

Navigation & mapping

The Xiaomi 1T is the first robot vacuum in the lineup that is equipped with a ToF 3D camera that is not only senses small obstacles but also calculates the distance, slows down and avoids them. A sensor located underneath intelligently measures the space to prevent the robot from getting stuck.

The robot is powered by CortexTM-A53 quad-core processing chip that locates the robot’s accurate position in real-time so you can see it’s cleaning path in the app.

To complete the map, the robot needs a few attempts under different light conditions. When the map is 100% complete, the robot saves it so you can edit it further.

The map can be divides into separate sections (rooms). You can order the robot to work in the kitchen and bedroom by selecting those zones on the map.

This is the first Xiaomi robot that is not Lidar-guided that supports room select.

Design & Appearance

The robot looks very similar to the Xiaomi MiJia 1C only comes in black. Except for the front camera sensor that recognizes objects.

The same as the 1C, a newer version has a separated dustbin (550 ml) and water tank (250 ml). The water tank is electronic and allows setting water output depending on mopping tasks.

The cleaner has one side brush and underneath looks identically to the 1C.

Under the lid, there is a dustbin with a HEPA filter inside.

The Xiaomi 1T is safe for allergy and asthma sufferers

Cleaning performance

The Xiaomi has the strongest suction and the biggest water tank.

It also has a large 5,200 mAh battery that ensures up to 180 minutes runtime making the 1T ideal for big homes. Moreover, the Xiaomi Mijia STYTJ02HZM 1T supports resumption which means it resumes cleaning after recharging if needs to finish cleaning.

As to cleaning on carpet, the Xiaomi has a good climbing ability (0.79 in / 20 mm) and that makes the robot suitable for medium-pile carpets.

The Xiaomi 1T is suitalble for carpets and hard floors. Ideal for large homes

A big water tank covers a large 160 square meters area on the lowest water output settings.

An 8.2 cm body fits under most furniture making the Xiaomi one of the shortest robot vacuums on the market.

App

The cleaner shows a cleaning map and real-time movements. It also supports virtual walls that keep it from going to certain places as well as setting zoned cleaning.

The most significant improvement is the room select. The 1T can be ordered to work in a certain room which the 1C can not.

Aside from those features, the Mi Home allows stopping, starting, and scheduling the robot.

Oh yeah, I have noticed the face of mine is a little scuffed, around the edges (I wanted to say corners but that's not right!). I think it has a little trouble with the chair legs around my table, it can if it lines itself up right get between them, but only just. So a few scrapes around there.

During it's learning process it can get a bit bumpy into things, my kids finally tidied their rooms enough for 'Rupert' to get in there, so it went through the learning process again.

I've watched him doing his job a few times and he's pretty good at not bumping into things, aside from when the chairs are in different places or something else is around (have a piano chair as well as chairs in the kids rooms too). Interesting you say about black legs, piano stool and the chairs in the kids rooms have black legs.. Perhaps it's that legs aren't always in the same place, so it can bump them.

I'm super happy with the vacuum tho, and the operation of it - would love to know what would happen if I took it downstairs tho.. And my downstairs has two seperate levels, so ideally it would need to learn 3 floors in total. Anyone know how that works? Wouldn't want to reset the map again ideally.

It can be set to speak English. And the app is in English just fine. I'm set to China as my region in the app - but I don't live there.

Hi Matt. I recently bought the Mijia 1T and after several uses the front face of the robot fill with scratches as the robot rub sometimes over the corners of the walls or on the frames of the doors. Do you know if has sensors behind the black plastic glass on the face of the robot that may occur malfunctions to them from the scratches? Did you had similar problems with yours? I also has IKEA living room tables that are black colour and many times hits on the legs of the tables. Tof camera has difficulties to see black colour i guess.

Hi Ron, can you set the language to English or it's only in chinese?I mean the robot's voice and the app language. Thanksand

Just received it today. Working great. Only doesn not have the feature of multiple maps yet. Strange because the 1s has it. I hope they release a firmware update for it

Hi. Thanks for the informations. I wanted to buy s5 max at first but now I'm planning to xiaomi 1T global version.(it is on sale in Turkey) . Which one is better S5 mx or Xioami 1T. I'm really hesitant. Here they are the same price.

Hi there, I don't know as I haven't heard much of the 1T. If we have more information that would be really awesome but so far I don't know.

Thank you anyway

I am hesitant about ordering 1T or 1C.
It seems that 1C is supported by Alexa/Home Assistant and according to the comparison chart in this site, that is the only Xiaomi robot that is supported.
I would like to know whether this chart is outdated and whether 1T is also supported by Amazon Alexa now (or is going to soon). This is essential for me and if not, I am going to order 1C, which has less features...

The 1T is a new model and I believe there is no international version so far which means the Chinese modification only supports a Xiaomi home assistant. When/if the international version comes out, it might support Alexa and Google Home but I can't say for sure. Only my guess.

Thanks for replying! I wonder whether the benefits of 1T over 1C would outweigh the risk that the International version would never be released for this model (maybe they would test this on Chinese market and then come up with the next version for the global market)?

In general, is there any difference between the Chinese and global version, except for packaging and documentation? I.e. is there any difference in actual hardware (quality?) and/or software? I am buying from TaoBao, all much cheaper there (I can get 1T for about 1800 yuan which translates to around $280, plus I will have to pay $11/kg shipping for about 5kg - which will stillturn much cheaper than elsewhere) but I can only get the Chinese version there.

Well, I use the Chinese version of the Xiaomi MiJia 1C and Xiaomi Mop P. Both robots speak Chinese and you might need to set the region to the Chinese mainland. But tbh I believe the 1C works fine on my local server. For example, some modifications of the Mop P support multilevel, others do not. But I didn't hear about other differences between those versions.

Natalie Red, does your Chinese 1C integrate with Alexa or Home Assistant? Or you only use it standalone, only with the Xiaomi app on the phone? I don't care whether the robot itself would talk to me, nor I need multilevel. All I want is to have the apartment properly mapped and being able to give voice commands to it using the existing AmazonEcho devices to go and clean certain areas, if required.

Can't seem to find a review on this model anywhere on the internet. Anyone else had any luck?

Trying to decide between this and a roborock S5 max....

Same! Would love to know more about the product but can't find anything yet

I am curieus if this vacuum (the Xiaomi 1T) can schedule cleaning in specific rooms and if this vacuum can save different maps from rooms? I can not see it in the comparison overview https://smartrobotreviews.com/reviews/xiaomi-robot-vacuums-comparison.html

Thx
Gerwin

Natalie Red ⋅ 3 years, 9 months ago #

Hi Gerwin, unfortunately, I don't know about the schedule in specific rooms as the product is new and nobody reviewed it. I do hope this will change in the near future and we know more about the product

AA ⋅ 3 years, 9 months ago #

it cannot. Schedule is only possible as "clean all"

Matt ⋅ 3 years, 7 months ago #

Just to update this question about cleaning specific rooms. There was a firmware update maybe 2 weeks back.
You can name rooms and set it to clean rooms by selection, so dining room, kitchen, lounge and then no other rooms. You can't set a order of rooms to clean.

Ah, tho if you're meaning 'scheduled cleaning' as in just do this activity each day etc then no - it's just clean all.
