Shark Ion 720 was designed to clean hardwood floors and thin carpets. Even though it cleans the floor with pet hair, dust, and dirt, it cannot run on medium and high-pile carpets/rugs. It comes with two side brushes that supposed to clean edges and corners. With a bunch of sensors located all over its body, the robot avoids bumping into furniture and do not fall from stairs. An IR remote control can start, stop, dock schedule, and put the vacuum in spot cleaning mode. In the box, you can find barrier strips that impede the Shark ION from crossing. The robot's brushroll manage to untangle long hair. The hair still does stuck into the brush but less often that happens with other robots.

Unfortunately, Shark Ion 720 is not compatible with Amazon Alexa / Google Home but its younger brother Shark Ion 750 do. Also, consumers notice some issues with scheduling. Sometimes the robot does not run at a time it was supposed to run.
