The iLIFE A8 is the newest robot vacuum cleaner from the iLIFE family. It is also a flagship machine and the first iLIFE machine equipped with mapping based on a camera sensor. After the robot builds a map, it calculates the most efficient path for cleaning. The unit has two brushes supposed to work well on carpets and bare floors to catch pet hair, dust, and dirt on its way. The bristle brush performs great on carpeted surface while the rubber one already present on the iLIFE A6 is designed to be tangle-free and works best on a hardwood floor. The voice assistant tells you what the A8 is doing or if it requires attention. In case its battery runs out but it hasn’t finished its session yet, the robot returns to the docking station to recharge and then resumes from where it left off.
Unfortunately, the iLIFE A8 doesn't have an app and thus isn't integrated with Alexa or Google Assistant.
With a price of about $300, the iLIFE A8 is one of the smartest budget devices on the market.
