I've had a similar issue with my old robot vacuum ILIFE V7. Check the main roller brush and ensure you can easily rotate it by hand. In my case hair was tangled near to the side tip of the brush and blocked the bearing. The robot struggles to rotate the roller brush, thus it seems like the robot thought it is stuck in a trap and tried to free itself by moving as you described.
You can try to remove the brush and check if it works without it.

Sent defective robot back via Amazon Prime and was sent a new one. The new one is perfect! I taught robotics and was surprised at this robot's effective cleaning routine and self charging. Highly recommend this robot.

Hi All.

I had to replace the plastic gears for the sweepers. Once I found replacement gears and re-assembled my robot, it will not dock driving straight in or somedays not at all. It goes in and beats the dock back and forth. In about 45% of the instances it will eventually dock. The rest of the time it just drives around until the battery dies. I cleaned the sensors etc like recommended, but I cannot get it to drive straight back in, or at least dock without all the drama. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
